Excellent and romantic hotel stay
Spent New Years Eve in Chicago with my now fiance. The hotel stay was excellent; very comfortable rooms and amenities, excellent location and view, wonderful staff. I would recommend it for a romantic stay.

NYE 2010 great place to stay
I enjoyed my stay at the Monaco. I did have a slight problem checking in. They said my credit (debit) card would not hold the deposit amount of $50. I couldn't understand why I never experience a problem like that before and knew that there were plenty of funds available. However the staff was courteous and I was able to place a cash deposit. I thought the room was exceptionally nice. It was literally blocks from the Chicago theater where we attending the NYE Kevin Hart show. It definately was a pleasant experience. Because I am a Chicago resident I would recommend staying at the Monaco especially after attending an event at the theater to make for a complete night out experience .

An enjoyable getaway we'll be back.
My wife, myself and my 11 year old grandson took a couple of days to see Chicago (it'd been a number of years since we've been there). We found the hotel excellent in all respects the addition of free hot chocolate after time outside and the evening wine tasting (as well as hot cider for my grandson) was a nice touch. We found this a great place to relax after a hectic day in the city.

Positively Perfect in Every Way
The Hotel Monaco is a perfect choice for a Chicago getaway! The hotel staff is extremely professional, accomodating and friendly; the rooms are cozy, immaculate,and first rate; and the window seats overlooking the Chicago skyline are the absolute best. It is also in a great location as it is within walking distace to Macys, the Theater District, and Magnificant Mile! We can't image staying anywhere else and it has been consistantly fantastic!

excellent experience
very helpful. We brought two cats and they provided a complimentary litter box. The rooms were very nice and did not have any animal smells from previous visitors. It was very quiet and we slept very well. No complaints.

Nice weekend.
Very nice place. Cute decor, not sleek and modern but more like a boutique. Helpful staff. Great location. Free happy hour was a nice perk- wine, champagne, spiked hot apple cider. Bathroom was very basic- I would have liked a bigger tub/nicer shower. Terrible view- brick wall.

good location, excellent staff
Christkindlmarket and Michigan Avenue have become a seasonal girls' weekend tradition and the Monaco is located in just the right location for both. Hotel staff is friendly and very helpful. Wine reception in the evening was a great way to relax after a day of touring and shopping downtown.

Christkindlmarket is a taste of Germany Chicago style. Enjoy the food, the traditional German Christmas decorations, the mulled wine or cider, the music and gift items all located in a village of booths decorated for the season. It will put you in the proper spirits!

The Family Planner
Better than we dared hope!
We felt welcomed and comfortable the minute we walked into the lovely lobby. The service was very good. Hot chocolate was available in the afternoon and a wine sampling was also an option. The room was beautiful, spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. Our room overlooked the river, so we each enjoyed climbing onto the padded window seats to watch what was going on around Wacker and Wabash. We easily walked to our favorite restaurant, The Berghoff, on Adams St, as well as to the Art Institute, and the fabulous State Street stores. Believe me, we will stay again at the Monaco!
