Perfect for wine lovers!
We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Monaco! The location is perfect for anyone looking to explore downtown Chicago. Located within blocks of Macy's, Millennium Park, Michigan Avenue, and The Cultural Center. The hotel caters to wine lovers with a hosted wine reception every evening. The hotel is also pet friendly! The staff was very friendly, and offered suggestions of things to do in the city and even looked up train schedules for us. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. The bath robes in the rooms are a nice touch!

Chicago Law Student
Excellent!
The room was very nice. I really enjoyed how nice the room was decorated. I had the King bed, The size of the room was great. The location of the hotel is the best for seeing great parts of Chicago and convenient for me to get to Loyola University Law School. I have to go back to Chicago in August and I will be staying at the same hotel. Next time I will pay the extra money and get a better view of the city. I had never heard of the hotel[...]. Overall it was a great experience.

Great places to eat. I had dinner at the restaurant that was connected to the hotel, which was great because I could charge it to the room and only use my credit card once.

Unbeatable location for the price!
Great location...can walk anywhere from here! Very easy to get to. No problems whatsoever. Overnight parking was in a garage around the corner; no valet though. Really liked the Aveda products they provided.

Great hotel
Great hotel, located in the center of Chicago. The staff were very nice. There were some nice touches like the 5-6 pm wine hour and that one could sit on a mat at the bay window and look out at the Chicago river and skyline.

Excl room service, mediocre amenities
Stayed two nights. Parking was $42 per night. Room services was excellent, quick, and tasty. Towels were scratchy and smelled of bleach. Had to join some sort of club to get free wifi. Pillows were terrible. View was nice. Noisy location.

Great location, good views
We stayed at the Monaco Hotel for one night only, but would highly recommend it! The hotel is in a great location - it is next to some lovely buildings, close to Michigan Avenue and is right next to the waterside. The staff were very friendly. The hotel room was a standard room, but was very clean, big and the bed was very comfortable. We asked for a room on a high floor and we were given just that! The windows were not floor to ceiling and there was quite a deep window sill, so you had to lean quite far forward to get a good view out of the window. The only downside was that the floors were some what creaky, so you could hear the person on the floor above walking around. However, this is not something to stop you staying at the hotel! Overall a nice experience. They offer free wine from 5-6pm and from 9-10am a free coffee, which was a nice touch. We can't comment on the food as we did not have any meals in the hotel. Definitely recommended!

If you want to splash out some cash, try Sixteen at the Trump Towers. It is overpriced, but the food is very nice. A drink at Rebar before hand will give you some nice views (however Sixteen unfortunately lacks and waterside views).
