Wonderful location

Great location. 1 blk from great shopping, dining. It's even a nice stroll to the lake and Navy Pier. Rooms are very nice and clean. Next to Hospital so even on the 17th floor you could still hear sirens.

Great location, slow elevators

Location is great, not even a block from Michigan Ave and lots of great shopping. Rooms were a little noisy but its downtown Chicago, what can you expect I guess. Our junior suite was very spacious and had a great flatscreen TV that could rotate from the sitting area to the bed. Dressing area/vanity was an added bonus. While we were there though, they only had one elevator working to the 8th-29th floors. Made waits very long and rides very cramped. Not many options on room service and hours were limited. AC in our room didn't keep it very cool.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

I thought it sounded cheesy at first, but the double decker bus tour is the way to go if you want to do some sightseeing. We had never been there before so we of course wanted to see the attractions and were able to do pretty much all of it in a few hours on there. They take you to all the major stops and you can get on and get off at your convenience.

Great Downtown location!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean. The room we had was spacious. The downside was that the hotel was very close to Northwestern Hospital and you heard ambulance sirens much of the day and night. They may want to do something to the windows to cut the noise. The location to enjpy the sights of Chicago was perfect.

Good Location, Good Staff, Good Hotel

I was in Chicago on a trip with my girlfriend for the first time. We had a great time in the city, great rooftop bar and good staff. Good location - Walking distance from everything and no car needed since Parking is $48 per night! Not worth the car rental - Easy cab ride from O'Hare and easy access (2-3 Blocks) to the El Train - Also only 6 miles one way to US Cellular Field for the White Sox and 6 miles the other way to Wrigley for the Cubs

Unbeatable location for the price

Very central hotel, just off Michigan Avenue (Magnificent Mile) we walked everywhere as it's so easy to find your way around and anywhere we were not sure about - the front desk staff helped us out. We were upgraded to a suite for $10 per night so we had plently of room. Great selection of TV channels for that one night that you just want to laze in bed after all the walking! Rooms were serviced regularly and rooms seemed to be quite sound-proofed. We didn't try the hotel restaurant but they've a great rooftop bar we tried and the price of the drinks were considerably cheaper than other bars. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Chicago.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

For food head down to Rush Street were the selection is plentyfull and for drinks after head to West Hubbard Street, for a quiet drink try O' Callaghan's but for something more lively and wihtout a cover charge try Rockit bar across the road!

Overall, quite nice

The room was modern, comfortable and pretty. We looked out at the Hancock Building. The staff was helpful. The cleaning service forgot to refill our coffee packets, and didn't seem all that thorough. They also woke us up knocking on our door at 8am the day we were to check out! Guess communication isn't great. The location is terrific. We walked - 20min - to the Art Institute, lots of fun Michigan Ave shopping right there.

How many Stars?

The hotel overall was wonderful. Friendly assertive service, also very accommodating to my odd arrival time, great amenities in the room. The two things I was disapointed with is one, the cleanliness of the room. I the floors were lightly dirty in the bedroom/bathroom area of the room. Personal hairs found underneath the sink counter and on the toilet. Two, the Air Conditioner was rather loud when the condenser kicked on. That should defiantly be looked into. On my two stay's, I had the same problem in different rooms. I am in the hotel industry myself, and know that these things happen, so I am not upset. An affordable additional 30 minutes of cleaning in the room would make a world of difference, and make the hotel stand out among others. Keep everything else up Affinia!

Weekend in Chicago

Great location. Kind of a pain to have to ask for ice whenever you want some and then have to wait for it. Usually, it came pretty quickly. Staff was SO helpful, good suggestions. Bar on roof was really neat.
