Chicago Tourist 1106
Hotel is nice but I would not go there again
The hotel is in a good location for tourists, close to downtown, you can walk to everything. However, because of the location, there is no parking for cars, and they only offer valet which is NOT complimentary, I had to pay $52 per day to just leave my car there and walk to everything. The room is tiny, i booked a room with city view and 2 double beds, they gave me a room with back hotel view of other buildings, a room with one queen bed and pull out sofa. Amenities weren't that fancy for the price. Only thing we like was the bathroom. The staffs were SUPER friendly though. I think overall the hotel was ok but not for price i paid.

MileNorth May 30th
Rooms start at around $235 but it wasn't worth it. Ottoman in room was filthy, so was green blanket on bed. The bathroom wasn't stocked that well with towels and the room curtain wouldn't go up so the room was dark the entire day and we couldn't enjoy the view. Location is excellent, however.

My review of Affinia Chicago formerly Fitzpatrick Hotel
Staff was friendly, I was on business and there was no access to Internet or room service. I think these amenities are on the way. Once they have I would return.

Great Location
The hotel was in a fantastic location - within walking distance of everything you would want to visit. Plenty of options to eat and occupy your time. The room was brilliant - very clean and tidy. There were 2 adults in our party and it was a good size for the 3 of us. The hotel itself was under renovation but that didn't spoil our trip and the staff were incredibly helpful with all that we needed. Would definately stay there again.

Decent (not great) hotel
I was looking forward to staying at this hotel after reading the reviews from others and hearing about the remodel. I was eager to stay in my Studio Suite. First impressions were good. The minimalist feel in the lobby and room felt very modern. The bathroom was small but very clean. My sister and I shared this room and flipped a coin to see who would sleep in the bed and who would sleep on the sofa pull-out bed. She won. I slept on the sofa bed and the next morning could barely move. I wouldn't recommend you consider this sleeping accomodation under any circumstances, it felt like sleeping on the foam in car seats. Other drawbacks to our room included a very loud air conditioning unit (which we had to leave on due to current weather conditions), an outdated hotel information guide, and tiny closet. We rented a movie through the hotel but the sound quality of our flat screen TV was so poor, we had to rewind the movie during several scenes. They did refund us but it wasn't without a little bit of attitude at the front desk. The help (concierge, doorman, housekeeper) were all very sweet and did their best. The hotel restaurant was disappointing, skip it and head to the next door pizza place (go early to avoid long lines).

Affinia's location is ideal for shopping. We loved the convenience of walking down Michigan Ave., being close to The Museum of Contemporary Art, and having our choice of what restaurant to dine at without having to take a cab.

Friendly Staff and Great Location
The Affinia Chicago is a very modern hotel with basic luxories. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. The beds were extremely comfortable and the room included a nice wall mounted plasma TV. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't an ice machine on the floor and during busy hours, it was difficult to have someone bring up a bucket. Also, there are only two elevators that run the entire length of the building so when a lot of people are checking in, it was a real pain trying to get up or down from our floor. All in all it was a great stay for the price. It's not a hotel with tons of ammenities but it's in a great location. If you are looking to spend the majority of your time out in the city, I recommend this as a great stay.

There is a 7-eleven just up the street which has decent prices on alcohol and much cheaper than the J & J's that the hotel recommended around the corner.

Amazing Time
I was in town for the Ms Continental Plus & Elite pageant. Boystown is about a 15 dollar cab ride away, shopping i loved because no need for cab, they take it right to your hotel. Also, it was easter so it made going to service at the fourth presbytarian church a few blocks walk away. there is a 24 hr walgreens less than 2 blocks away. but the only thing is the fire dept is around the corner and they go out with full sirens at all hours of the day/night and the women's hospital is next door to the hotel. other than that it's a great hotel. i already booked my stay for september!
