VERY NOISY
I would not recommend this hotel. For an elite room it was VERY noisy. The room was very noisy and you could hear other guests throughout the night.The view of the lake was decent from the room. The concierge staff were not helpful and gave wrong directions to a main attraction sight.

Not good service
We stayed at this exact same hotel last year and booked through this website. We had a great experience with a wonderful room. This year, we were put in a room for one person with only one bed - we were told that if we had booked through Marriot's website, we could request two beds, but through this service we got one bed and pull-out sofa. The sofa was uncomfortable and freezing cold right by the window. Actually, the entire room was cold - the window let a lot of cold air in. Also, when we called to the front desk for extra blankets and pillows for the sofa, we had to call three times and housekeeping still arrived empty-handed wondering what we wanted. The shower was cold both a.m. and p.m. The concierge gave me the wrong directions for the Christkindlemarkt and misinformed me regarding wifi availability. Overall, not good customer service. Maybe they have changed management or were short-staffed or something, but if Marriot is going to treat customers who book through online services like second class citizens, they should not accept any bookings that way.

We will not stay here again. Or any Marriott for that matter.
The room was unbelievably hot. The inabilty of the Marriott to provide a comfortably heated room is just unacceptable in the 21st Century. We were given a fan to use and 2 free cups of Starbucks for our inconvenience. We are not planning any other stays with Marriott Hotels based on this terrible experience. The drop down below does not include the year 2013.

Not a great Marriott
Rooms are very outdated. Hairs in the shower when we first got there. Ceiling falling down in the bathroom as well. Front desk staff when we arrived (at night) was very rude.

Good service, Good location, Bad room
Air conditioner thermostat did not work properly and leaked water on floor. No mini refrigerator. Had no TV remote. Bathroom sink had a very slow drain. Had mold around tub.

Nice stay
Great location with view of Mag Mile and the lake. Good food in hotel restaurant. Down side was noisy people in hall and sirens on street below.

Great location, extraordinary parking fees, small rooms and tiny bathrooms~ Saving grace is that Chicago is a first rate, fun city and the location of this hotel was the primary determinant.

unbelievable location for the price
We went for a girls get away weekend, we have stayed in Chicago before at different hotels, by far this was the best location for resturants, shopping, nightlife! We will defintely stay at the Marriott Downtown again!
