What a great place!!!

Our previous reservation for a different hotel got screwed up by THEIR staff on the day we were to drive from Ohio to Chicago. Lucky for us!!! The LaQuinta was located 1 block north of the Sears tower. From our room you could look right out the window at it! All the downtown sights were walking distance from the hotel. Other "same area" places wanted a HUGE price to stay there. We got great service and again great location for a fraction of the price. I would, and have already, recommend this place to firends and anyone heading to Chicago. The only negative was no onsite parking. Had to use adjacent garage, but the cost of parking is included inthe rate if you drive in, so it's not a cost that hits you at check out.

All major sites (sears tower, Hancock tower, Water tower shops, Navy Pier, Observatory, Aquarium, even Soldier field were AT most a 25-30 minute walk. Even in July weather it wasn't that bad, with the constant breeze.

It was good -

We were staying downtown Chicago for my daughter's 14th birthday. The hotel is perfectly located to all the shopping stores; Forever 21, Macy's, WetSeal etc. We walked (2.5 miles) to the Navy Pier and back. For being one of the cheaper hotels, it was very clean and the free breakfast wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the double beds were super small. Two to a bed and you were cuddling!

Just right

Best deal for staying in downtown Chicago. Clean, quiet, and in a perfect location. Best price for anything in the Loop area. The breakfast was great, the hot tub was hot, and the staff were helpful.Everything seemed really new, such as the HD TV, the marble sinks in the bathroom, and the updated decor. There was no city noise to complain about, because our room faced the inner courtyard. Parking was convenient, but not necessarily cheap. I would have given it 5 stars had the parking been less expensive. Also, the parking garage overcharged us, and there was nobody there to dispute it with. We had 3 small children, and because of the location we were able to walk to the Sears Tower, Navy Pier, and the water taxis without any trouble. There were plenty of places to eat at a great price. We were thinking about staying farther out of the city to save money, but the convenience of being in the middle of everything, and the quality of the hotel made up for the price difference.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Short walk to Sears Tower. Great pizza place for families with children, about 2 blocks east of Sears tower on south side of street. Real Chicago pizza at a great price.

It was as expected. No concerns.

My first time at this hotel and I had no big issues with the actual stay, but there was an administrative hassle when they had my profile mixed up with another profile.

Great weekend!

It was a great weekend stay - did not want to leave. Staff was friendly and helpful. Close to all CTA stops and a few mins from shopping and the museums. The breakfast included was outstanding (much more than pastries and cereal)!! Parking was next door which is convenient but very pricey!!! After 3 days - $103! yikes! We will be back and hopefully very soon (minus the car)!!

Very Comfy

There was a choir convention in town that took up the 3rd and 4th floors. We were on the 5th floor - which wasn't too noisy, but being next to the elevator was a little annoying. We enjoyed a good night's sleep - and the restful, newly renovated room. Also - at a great price!
