nice place, bad parking

I booked this place because the web site said free parking. Nope cost 15 bucks. I arrived late because of delayed flight and there is nothing to eat except vending. Staff was friendly and room was very nice.

Last Minute Anniversay trip

This hotel was nice. The room was pretty with modern decor, and very spacious. The windows panoramic view added to the open feel. The down side is you can hear all the noises from the street, which made for a restless night sleep. While the room was clean, their new decor was already a bit beat up. The curtains were snagged and the lamps were scuffed and tattered looking. The location was a little more on the outskirts than I'm used to, the trollies don't travel to this part of town, but the stops are relatively close. But it's about a 15 minute walk to the Art Institute of Chicago and about 30-35 minute walk to the start of the magnificent mile. Overall it was a good stay, on par with the chain. Bring your own toiletries, they only provide 2 small bars of soap and a single use shampoo, no lotion or conditioner. And plan on eating breakfast out. They do provide breakfast at no cost, but is it utter chaos in the breakfast area, you cannot serve yourself with the hot food, and the eggs were inedible.

Great Value! Great Breakfast! (small pool)

We were greeted kindly by the front desk clerks, who were fairly efficient though a bit harried. They graciously accommodated our request to change from a smokey 'non-smoking' room to an upgraded one. Room and bed were comfortable, with a futon couch that was moderately comfortable for sleeping. Minor criticism - indoor pool was VERY small. OK for small children, but no lap swimming. Breakfast? A step above the typical waffle and pastry routine. They offered fresh fruit, yogurt (and pastries). Additionally, one morning there was also biscuits/gravy, as well as hot oatmeal in a crockpot. The next morning they served hot scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon. The best part? The ladies operating the breakfast room were as kind and accommodating as they could be. Their smiles and warm greetings were enough to bring us back!

Ok if you just need a place to sleep

The good: Easy check in and out, location right off the train, clean room, free wifi The bad: No in room safe, only toiletry provided is one bottle shampoo/conditioner and a bar of soap, not even a small bottle of lotion, no places to eat near by in the evening so expect a cab or a long walk. There are food choices but everything closes after the business lunch crowd is done for the day. The free breakfast was the typical cheap hotel food: waffle mix, cold cereal, nasty biscuits and gravy, bread and hot brown water calling it self coffee. Don't think I would stay again do to it's

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

If you are familiar with The Loop you know everything closes after the business crowd goes home for the day. Expect to walk or can it north, south or east of hotel to find some dinner options.

Best value for the $

We stayed here as an alternative to the overpriced hotel that our convention was held in. My highlights: Very friendly and helpful staff, a good breakfast and amazing location. This hotel offers a very good value for the price. Walking distance to just about everything you might want to see in downtown Chicago, and a Doorman who will hail you a cab if you aren't up for the exercise. No fridge in the room, but ice makers easily accessible on each floor. Kuerig in the room. Small pool is great for kids.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

You can walk to just about everything from here, and it's 2 blocks from Ogilvie Train Station. A cab ride from here to anything downtown probably won't exceed $6.00
