You might spend more time staring at the 1920s design of the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile hotel than you spend checking in at the front desk. When you've finished gawking at the gold leaf murals, the marble columns topped with medieval knights, and the blue tile ceiling of the Spanish Tea Court, don?t forget to squeeze in a wine and chocolate-tasting session at on-site eatery, Eno. There's also a Junior Olympic indoor pool to conquer - complete with original Moorish-style features. Or if you feel like a more subdued afternoon, the sugar honey body polish at the Spa and Health Club awaits.

Neighborhood
The InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile hotel is located directly on the 13-mile stretch of Chicago’s North Michigan Avenue, locally dubbed the 'Magnificent Mile' for its hundreds of shops, boutiques, museums and restaurants, many of which operate around the clock. Within a five-block radius of the hotel, visitors will find the iconic Navy Pier and legendary Shedd Aquarium, while a walk over the Chicago River leads to acres of welcome green space at Millennium Park, with the Art Institute of Chicago inside its vast expanse.
Hints and tips
Restored to its former glory after sixty years of disrepair, the InterContinental Chicago has plenty of stories to tell. Check out features like the original marble lions in the Assyrian-design hall, and the sweeping staircase in the lobby, the handrail of which belonged to the Medinah Athletic Club of 1929.

For the best views in the hotel, request a room in the historic tower.

VERY nice hotel in a great location on Michigan Avenue. Parking for the night was pricey ($65) but I'd do it again.

Prime Location, Historic Building

Hotel was beautiful, and in a prime location on Michigan Ave. The staff here were exceptionally friendly. Only complaint is the room was VERY cramped. There was no room for our 2 suitcases. I can't remember the exact room name/type, but it was not in the historic tower. Other than that, the rooms themselves were nice. They look remodeled. Overall, would highly recommend staying here.

Great location, great staff friendliness!

Perfect location to downtown sites! We chose it due to vicinity of nearby trolley & buses to go to Navy Pier. I wanted to check out the Eno wine & chocolate bar but it closes early during the week (though front desk told us 1am). Our room was tiny and the a/c wasn't working real well. There also was a very damp wet spot on our carpet near the desk that just wouldn't dry?? Room service was friendly and speedy. Overall, great hotel if need a convenient place to crash.

Fun Memorial Weekend Vacation

The staff was great and accomodating! You could not beat the location...so centrally located!!!! We were just a little disappointed with the quality of the towels and the lack of personal space in the refrigerator. Otherwise, overall it was a wonderful stay! Thank you.

Expensive Wifi

Location was good, just right by North Michigan Ave. However, Wifi is not free and expensive ($18). The room was also small for two bed room.

Weekend Getaway

My fiancée and I wanted to stay on the Magnificent Mile for a weekend away from the kids. We chose this hotel mainly because of its location, which is almost perfect for the shopping that Chicago has to offer. When booking I thought this was going to be a typical luxury hotel with a more than friendly staff and concierge service that was actually helpful. When arriving there was no one to help with the bags into the hotel and waited for almost 20 minutes for help up to the room. We had a late dinner reservation on Saturday night and when asking for some options to go out afterwards, the concierge acted as if we were inconveniencing her for some advice. The Michael Jordan restaurant had very good food and would go back, even though the wait for our food was extremely long. The manager was very accommodating and took care of our entire meal and gave us his card to come back and be would personally take care of us again. Overall was a good weekend with great shopping and great food.

Awesome Staycation

My boyfriend and I booked the InterContinental for a little staycation and it was great! The staff was friendly and helpful and the front desk agent upgraded our room for no charge. The location on Michigan Ave. can't be beat. We were a little disappointed to find out the pool is only used for lap swimming as we were hoping for something a little more casual and relaxing but overall we had a great time!

Almost perfect!!!

My room was very comfortable and had all that one would need for a great vacation. The view was absolutely breath-taking, not to mention the staff was very attentive. The only thing that I can say was disappointing was that I was charged for three different items from the mini bar due to my roommate picking them up and looking at them for longer than 30 seconds then placing them back into the fridge. Apparently there is a sensor on the door of the fridge and anything that is not replaced within 30 seconds is charged to your credit card. I tried to explain to the staff what happened but they did not want to hear it.
