Follow the conventioneers to adjacent McCormick Place
If Chicago is a convention town, Hyatt Regency McCormick Place is the unofficial headquarters. Access to McCormick Place doesn't get any more convenient-- guests can walk to social events, conventions or trade shows via a connected covered bridge. Designed for large groups, starting with a board-room glam lobby and enormous meeting rooms and banquet halls, city energy lives at this 800-room hotel bustling with action. Rooms feature sweeping views of the Chicago skyline, including Soldier Field, Willis Tower and Lake Shore Drive.
Highlights
- Direct access to McCormick Place
- Close to Soldier Field, U.S. Cellular Field, the Field Museum and other Chicago landmarks
- City and Lake Michigan views
- Hospitality suites, meeting rooms and banquet space
- Indoor lap pool and fitness center
Rooms
The color scheme -- gold and royal blue -- reflect Hyatt Regency's regal feel, a look captured with shiny satin throw pillows and comfy bolsters. Like the rest of the space, rooms (available in king or double offerings) use dramatic lighting to their advantage, but even without the lights on, the urban sophistication shines through, literally. Draw the curtains to take in gorgeous vistas of the infamous Windy City.
Guests can expect a work desk, iHome and iPod docking station, individual climate control system, Portico bath products, plus hard-wired and Wi-Fi access in every room.
Features
Playing host to hundreds of thousands of visitors every year is no easy feat, but that's precisely the business of Hyatt Regency McCormick Place. While many guests conduct business next door at McCormick Place, there is plenty of meeting and ballroom space onsite to host meetings or throw a wedding or company party. To ensure that work needs are met, a business center is open 24 hours for fax, print, copy and shipping services.
When it's time to unwind, grab a workout in the fitness center, relax in the sauna or swim laps in the indoor pool. Shor, a contemporary seafood and steak restaurant, aims for upscale dining, while Forno, a casual Italian eatery, offers lunch on-the-go.

Young Kids and Auto Show
Exceeded Expectations
I stayed at this facility for the 2013 Chicago Auto Show. My husband and I were traveling with two young girls (ages 3 and 1) and wanted easy access to the show and the ability to go back to the room quickly for naps. This worked PERFECTLY. It took us all of 5 minutes to walk from the show to our room. I couldn't have asked for anything better. The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and very courteous. Our room was very nice. I honestly am surprised it didn't cost more (we stayed under the surf and turf package which basically saves you $12/day for parking and gives you free internet). It's possible the reduced rate was due to the current remodeling? Which, by the way, didn't interfere with our trip at all. Overall, I was very pleased with this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

OK experience
Location was great as it was connected to the McCormick Place. Just had to walk next door. Rooms were clean. Beds were hard to sleep in as they were small and uncomfortable. Parking your car cost $32 a day for self parking!!

Quality experice with the family
Hyatt was a great value for the price. Easy access to CTA and close to many attractions. Staff was friendly and efficient. Need to work on some sound damping upgrades for the hallways. Folks coming in after night of on the town are extremley nosiy and the sounds really carries.

No flexibility
Booked hotel for 2 nights - a personal situation prevented us from arriving for first night. Hotel was not flexible and would not offer a credit. As a frequent travleler to Chicago, I will not stay at this property in the future

A convention facility
The Hotel is adjacent to the convention center & is near nothing else. A taxi or a car rental is required to go anywhere. Valet parking @ $44/day is unreasonable & self -parking @ $33/day is also a hidden "rip-off". The Hotel is showing age & is a Hyatt Regency in name only. Even the bed linens did not fit the beds properly & the curtain for the closet door was in poor taste. My iPhone would not fit the nano adapter in the I-home. There will never be a next time here!

Labor Day Weekend
The cleanliness of the room was below standard. Housekeeping only made the bed. The carpet was not vacuumed. The tile in the bathroom area was not swept or mopped. The bathtub was not cleaned. This was reported to the housekeeping. On the first complaint housekeeping responsed and cleaned the area. On the second compliant, I was told it was too late and housekeeping was not available.

Deceptive
Reception staff courteous, helpful and nice. Lobby of the hotel is fantastic so you think rooms are going to be as nice. Be ready to get disappointed in the room. It sucks for the price ($200.00/night) I expect a better room. Hotel is in business district so they nickle and dime everything even after paying $200.00/night for bad room.
