Follow the conventioneers to adjacent McCormick Place

If Chicago is a convention town, Hyatt Regency McCormick Place is the unofficial headquarters. Access to McCormick Place doesn't get any more convenient-- guests can walk to social events, conventions or trade shows via a connected covered bridge. This chic hotel also offers a boardroom glam lobby and enormous meeting rooms and banquet halls. Rooms feature sweeping views of the Chicago skyline, including Soldier Field, Willis Tower and Lake Shore Drive.

Highlights
  • Direct access to McCormick Place
  • Close to Soldier Field, U.S. Cellular Field, the Field Museum and other Chicago landmarks
  • City and Lake Michigan views
  • Hospitality suites, meeting rooms and banquet space
  • Indoor lap pool and fitness center
Rooms
After a $110-million dollar renovation, guests can now throw curtains open and admire sweeping views of the Chicago skyline, Museum Campus, Soldier Field, or Lake Michigan. All guest rooms are equipped with work desk, iHome with iPod docking station, individual climate control system, complimentary Wi-Fi access, 42-inch flat-screen TVs with expanded HD channel selection, refrigerators, safes to fit your laptop, designer bath products, and technology jack packs with HDMI, iPod/iPhone, VGA, USB, video/audio, and RCA capabilities.
Features
Playing host to hundreds of thousands of visitors every year is no easy feat, but that's precisely the business of Hyatt Regency McCormick Place. While many guests conduct business next door at McCormick Place, there is plenty of meeting and ballroom space onsite to host meetings or throw a wedding or company party. To ensure that work needs are met, a business center is open 24 hours for fax, print, copy and shipping services.
When it's time to unwind, grab a workout in the fitness center, relax in the sauna or swim laps in the indoor pool. Shor, a contemporary seafood and steak restaurant, aims for upscale dining, while Forno, a casual Italian eatery, offers lunch on-the-go.

Wonderful B'day getaway

This was my 5 yr old granddaughters choice for a birthday gift. To take the train and spend the weekend in Chicago visiting the museums. The staff at the Hyatt was wonderful and extremely helpful in making our stay a wonderful memory for her.

Great Weekend Getaway

Hotel was just what I needed for spending the weekend in Chicago! Hotel was only a $2.25 Bus Ride to all the main sights and sounds (or a $12 cab ride), and paths along the lake were right around the corner from the convention center that's attached to the hotel. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful for recommendations of how to get around/things to do. The restaurant, cafe, and bar/lounge that were attached to the hotel were great too. Room was very clean and had plenty of space. Definitely felt that I got a good deal on booking with this hotel (it's little removed from the city, but safe, and cheaper than the closer hotels). I would stay again on a future visit.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

You can cab it to the city, but the #3 bus picks up 30 yards or so from the hotel entrance and goes straight down Michigan Avenue. The Concierge was really helpful with everything you need to know, bus drivers are helpful too, and it's chapter than taking a $10-15 cab. Busses stop riding around 11:30 pm, so if you're out late at night cabbing it back is your only option besides walking.

Quality experice with the family

Hyatt was a great value for the price. Easy access to CTA and close to many attractions. Staff was friendly and efficient. Need to work on some sound damping upgrades for the hallways. Folks coming in after night of on the town are extremley nosiy and the sounds really carries.

No flexibility

Booked hotel for 2 nights - a personal situation prevented us from arriving for first night. Hotel was not flexible and would not offer a credit. As a frequent travleler to Chicago, I will not stay at this property in the future

Great value

Good place to stay if you don't need to be really downtown. Cheaper than other 4-stars that are downtown. Ideal if you have a car. Restaurants nearby. Close to Lakeshore. Would go back.

Taste of Chicago

The hotel was very nice. It was a bit far from Michigan Ave but a short bus ride or a $10+ taxi. All in all I enjoyed.

overnight stay for one night trip to Soldier Field. Hotel was really busy due to the concert in town, one of the rooms we booked was not available at check-in. They were eventually able to accommodate the reservation upon our return from the concert. Friendly staff and very clean rooms.

not happpy

When we checked in, we didn't get the bed we paid for. We ask for King size and got a double bed because they were sold out of king. Now, I sleep on a king size bed and was unable to sleep with my husband because of the size of the bed. That really upset us, and since we were already there and travel to the hotel it wasn't worth canceling so we accepted this and wasn't happy.

Holiday weekend trip

The staff was very nice and friendly. The room was clean, and stocked with extra blankets. I visited the bar once, the drink was pretty tasty. The location was not exactly walking distance from Downtown, a cab ride fare ran aproximately $10.00 so, it was not too far. This was fine because we heard sirens a few times a day, each day while Downtown. I didn't here the sirens at the Hotel. I would stay here again.
