Follow the conventioneers to adjacent McCormick Place

If Chicago is a convention town, Hyatt Regency McCormick Place is the unofficial headquarters. Access to McCormick Place doesn't get any more convenient-- guests can walk to social events, conventions or trade shows via a connected covered bridge. Designed for large groups, starting with a board-room glam lobby and enormous meeting rooms and banquet halls, city energy lives at this 800-room hotel bustling with action. Rooms feature sweeping views of the Chicago skyline, including Soldier Field, Willis Tower and Lake Shore Drive.

Highlights
  • Direct access to McCormick Place
  • Close to Soldier Field, U.S. Cellular Field, the Field Museum and other Chicago landmarks
  • City and Lake Michigan views
  • Hospitality suites, meeting rooms and banquet space
  • Indoor lap pool and fitness center
Rooms

The color scheme -- gold and royal blue -- reflect Hyatt Regency's regal feel, a look captured with shiny satin throw pillows and comfy bolsters. Like the rest of the space, rooms (available in king or double offerings) use dramatic lighting to their advantage, but even without the lights on, the urban sophistication shines through, literally. Draw the curtains to take in gorgeous vistas of the infamous Windy City.

Guests can expect a work desk, iHome and iPod docking station, individual climate control system, Portico bath products, plus hard-wired and Wi-Fi access in every room.

Features

Playing host to hundreds of thousands of visitors every year is no easy feat, but that's precisely the business of Hyatt Regency McCormick Place. While many guests conduct business next door at McCormick Place, there is plenty of meeting and ballroom space onsite to host meetings or throw a wedding or company party. To ensure that work needs are met, a business center is open 24 hours for fax, print, copy and shipping services.

When it's time to unwind, grab a workout in the fitness center, relax in the sauna or swim laps in the indoor pool. Shor, a contemporary seafood and steak restaurant, aims for upscale dining, while Forno, a casual Italian eatery, offers lunch on-the-go.

More than 3 miles to downtown

The Hotel was wonderful and with great staff. However, by the time we made it our trip they didn't offer shuttle service anymore. Even though they compensated us, taxi was quite expensive. We were down there to celebrate a birthday so each time we went out to the city we had to $15 for taxi Overall, we had a great time in Chicago but someone is headig to Chicago for vacation he or she should stay in the city.

Diappointed with parking arrangements!!

I was very disappointed to have to pay $30 to park!! The total to stay at the hotel was $158 instead of $128 like I was quoted when I booked the room. I feel parking should just be a courtesy to park FREE for staying at your hotel!!

Fantastic Hotel

My wife and I visited on a business trip for myself. While I was next door in the conference center all day she enjoyed the hotel shuttle to attractions downtown and the friendly staff. A few good restaurants in the hotel to eat at, and an overall great experience for us. The only negative I have to say about the place is that it is a little far removed from downtown, but the hotel shuttle definitely makes up for that.

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

Try to take the hotel shuttle where you can. The hotel is a little removed from the downtown and cabs can get expensive.

Great hotel and great location. The staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable, and the fitness room was great. Comp shuttle to Michigan Ave and within walking distance to Soldier Field. I'm looking forward to my next visit.
