For the Mini-Vacationer
This was one of the most worthwhile mini (3-day) trips I've ever taken. The Hotel was not in the heart of downtown Chicago (noisy and busy) but close enough that you could walk a couple of minutes to all of the hot attractions. It was right across the street from the river walk...peaceful, quiet, and beautiful sightseeing if you simply want to walk there. All shops, restaurants, and tours are within minutes of the Hotel. The hotel Concierge was extremely helpful with affordable recommendations for activities (hop-on/ hop-off tour, architectural boat tour, restaurants within and nearby the hotel, etc.). I went with a friend, the rooms are impeccable. We are two very busy school-based professionals who just needed time away for a few days. It was well worth-it. We went to the spa within the hotel (Spa Di La Fronza), took a self-guided walking tour (easy to follow), Walked to the Navy Pier (boat tours, live performances-some free, beautiful scenery, family friendly, great shops, fun rides, food), took a Speedboat ride, and ate at wonderful restaurants. Must try GINO's East Pizza for Chicago's own deep dish pizza! You will not regret this trip. If you're not a walker, bring walking shoes. It's helpful to take the round-trip shuttle (non-complimentary, but discounted for 2 or more people) to and from the airport. Great stay, Beautiful architecture, great activities, great Mini-Vaca!

Save the rental car expense -- everything is within walking distance or you can take a cab. You'll save the $50.00 per night parking fee (not seen on any references to the hotel(s) -- not just the Hyatt).

Chicago Birthday
Everything was amazing, rooms were spotless, prime location for the Chicago attractions. The only thing that was really not needed was seeing [...] Bikers in leather bondage and submission clothes or tied up walking around with things in their mouth. It didn't bother us that much we just thought it was funny, but we did see the look of family faces along with their children. It's a family hotel, and that type of Bondage Convention was pretty strange, I felt bad for the family with children we saw. We found out later it was the International Men of Leather weekend. But all in all the whole trip was priceless! [...]
