Experience the mid-city excitement of Chicago with a stay at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, a pillar of The Windy City's urban landscape. Expansive open-plan areas are flanked by sloping staircases and sprawling sofas, while the burgers at BIG bar are every bit as huge as the window panoramas. As a convention venue, its ballrooms are grand, and its grocery store Market Chicago provides for the lunch-on-the-go crowd. There's even a private self-serve business center with high-speed Internet (fees may apply) and color printing for Regency Club members. Sink a few billiard balls at DaddyO's Pub and Game Room to finish off the day.

Neighborhood
The Hyatt Regency Chicago is one of six Hyatt hotels in the Windy City, located on East Upper Wacker Drive and connected to the Illinois Center. Explore the seemingly endless shops and restaurants on the Magnificent Mile from the front door, or check the exhibitions and performances schedule at Millennium Park. The fairground thrills of Navy Pier are also just to the east of the hotel. A glance at the nearby Chicago River reveals a fairly steady stream of ferry boats and gondolas; come down at twilight for a river cruise as the city lights dance on the water.
Hints and tips
Ask for a room with a view of Navy Pier if you're staying over a Wednesday or Saturday, to watch the twice-weekly fireworks displays from the comfort of your accommodation.

Fitness addicts can access the gym at the Hyatt Regency Chicago around the clock, and there's also a jogger's path along the nearby Riverwalk.

Great Location

Perfect location. Right across from the river with a view of Navy Pier. Just 1-2 blocks from Magnificent Mile and a few blocks from Millenium Park. Hotel was nice, nothing out of the ordinary but it really was a perfect location.

Excellent Location & Unbelievable Price

The staff was excellent with giving walking directions to Navy Pier & the Taste of Chicago. Housekeeping was excellent with making the beds each morning and keeping the room spotless. I would like to thank the Hyatt Regency Chicago staff for excellent customer service. This hotel is in walking distance to everything. You can walk to Millenium Park, Grant Park, Navy Pier, and Michigan Ave with lots & lots of shopping. Our hotel room had a view of the Chicago River. It was beautiful and relaxing. I did not want to leave.

Nice hotel in good location

Chicago is expensive no matter where you stay "value" is hard to determine. This hotel is nice, clean and in a great location. Staff was great and you can see everything you need in the city from this place.

Great get-a-way location.

The Hotel is in a perfect location for shopping and dining on the Magnificent Mile and beyond. Clean rooms and friendly staff. A free fridge would have been nice. The only glitch was at check out. We checked out online. We were told, at check in, to call fifteen minutes before we wanted to get our car. We tried, and were told that they weren't doing that because they were busy, and to come down to the valet parking. We did so and were told 15 minutes. We waited over 50 minutes. Lucky is wasn't colder. It put a damper on the whole experience. Still, a good value overall, and we would still stay there again.

Water Tower Place, and Macy's just a short walk away. Great upscale food court for a light lunch while leaving room for the many excellent restaurants surrounding the area for dinner.

Great Location and Amenities

We spent the weekend in Chicago for our anniversary. The location gave us easy access to popular spots such as Michigan Ave., Grant Park, Millennium Park, the running paths on the lake, the Art Institute, everything! We were close enough to everything with a 10-15 minute walk and far enough away that it felt restful to go back to the hotel. We saw a free Chicago Symphony Concert in Grant Park and also did the very touristy double-decker bus tour (wonderful guide named Chris!). At check-in, we requested a room away from the elevator, ice machine and laundry, and we were given the perfect room on the 34th floor. The concierge was helpful with restaurant recommendations. The room was very, very clean. We have stayed in Chicago before, and this hotel was definitely superior. Our only complaints are very minor: the available dresser space isn't enough for two people (a tiny box of a dresser in the closet) and the mini-bar is not actually a refrigerator.

You do not need to take a cab or an expensive shuttle from O'Hare to get to downtown Chicago. $2.25 gets you there by CTA -- and then it's a short walk to the hotel. Easy, easy -- and the train is well-maintained.

Take cabs, save you time, also if you are going to the aquarium-book 24 hours before and get the tickets at will call, or else you will have an hour wait to get tickets the same day.

Perfect location but not clean enough

Most of the attractions in Chicago were near by this hotel. It was perfect location to go anywhere but the room was not clean enough. The room was not clean and there was not enough fresh air in the room. I recommend this hotel but I hope cleaning service gets better.
