Convenient convention hotel in Chicago
When the lights go down in the Windy City, there is no better location to soak in the view than at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Walking the full breadth of the Pier is as universally popular and appealing as shopping on the nearby Magnificent Mile. Given its proximity to these and other top Chicago attractions, it’s no surprise that the Hyatt Regency Chicago remains a popular site for conventions.
Highlights
  • Easy access to the Magnificent Mile and Navy Pier
  • Six restaurants and bars, including Stetson’s Chophouse and BIG Bar
  • Private Regency Club lounge on penthouse level of west tower
  • Fitness center on 24th floor
  • On-site currency exchange

Convention Hotel

It was bitter cold outside, so I spent more time than usual in the hotel, and it was very comfortable and fairly priced. Meals were far more reasonably priced than at some other nearby hotels. Food was good and service was excellent. The room had a river view. It was clean and comfortable, but not lavish. It could use some more comfortable lobby seating for small groups to talk.

Great place to stay in the Chicagol Loop

I have business periodically near this hotel. It is near the best shopping in the city and within walking distance of several cultural venues. The valet parking is a great asset. I have stayed here many times and will always stay here . Great value.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Connected under ground to the building containing regional federal and state agencies. This heated underground walk has restaurants and other shops. On the bitterest windy day one can reach these offices without having to wear all manner of winter clothing.

Wonderful stay!

Went for a weekend getaway, bears/packers weekend. Hotel is walking distance from most of the hottest Chicago bars. also close to shopping. Biggest downfall is parking is expensive and a huge hassle.

Nice stay, but a bit pricy

I think before booking here you'll need to understand that the hotel is primarily focused on Business Class with a large convention center. Despite the price, internet service is not included; ranging from $9.95 - $19.95/day extra. Parking is very expensive at $59.00/day. Breakfast/snacks are not included. There is no functional refrigerator or microwave available; only a cash fridge with costly beverages. Customer service is great, but be prepared to spend $$$ on incidentals and extras that other hotels include in their nightly rate. Really nice place, but not sure if we'd go back.

Nothing extraordinary, nothing terrible. I think that the staff is ready for quick, in and out guests. The bathtub wasn't draining, but I was there for only one night so it didn't bother me. No complimentary breakfast.

Always

This was my first time at the Hyatt Regency, Chicago. The staff was friendly and accomdoated my room request. The room was large and clean. And the public areas (restaurants and bars were lively, had healthy choices and were at competitive price points. Will always stay at this hotel from now on.

Weekend getaway

The hotel is very clean and modern. The room was a nice size with comfortable beds. Its location was a convenient walking distance for the areas we were interested in visiting (State Street, Michigan and Navy Pier). There are also several bus routes with pick-ups near the hotel as an alternative to walking if desired. The fitness center was equipped with a decent number of machines and equipment although it was a little small for the number of people using it. Several nice (but expensive) restaurant choices within the complex. We enjoyed our stay and would consider this facility again.
