Great location, excellent price!
Excellent location-one block from Michigan Avenue! Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was very clean and a decent size. The TV was an older model, as I had read in previous reviews, but we weren't there to watch TV, so it worked out just fine. The concierge recommended The Grand Lux Cafe for dinner as I was looking for some place special for my daughter and I to go. We were seated at a prime table overlooking Michigan Avenue, had a wonderful meal and a fabulous dessert!

EVerything we wanted
WE went there for the night before the Shamrock Shuffle run downtown, just to get a night away. The room was beautiful, clean, and the sheets were so soft and plenty of pillows. Really nice and central

Nice Hotel and close to many things
It was very strange to check in on the second level; apparently that is the way many hotels are in Chicago but it was very odd for us. Staff was very nice in upgrading us, for our anniversary, at no extra cost after our first night's stay. Did not appear to really be very many amenities that came with the room -- it was hard to get coffee; they give you two small packets - which makes 2 cups as the coffeemaker is only a single cup maker -- we like more coffee than this and when we asked for more, they brought ONE packet. Some things were not replaced from day to day and it was hard to find someone who could really help you get the things you needed or wanted -- transferred to several different places and no one answered.

Decent
Good location by mag mile, 0.5mi from lakeshore trails. Some amenities (TV, for example) are dated, but good/clean place overall.

This Hotel Meets Your Needs
The hotel staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is an older one and this shows in some of the areas. The room was clean and the bed and pillows comfortable. Location is good. You are very close to shops and restaurants on Michigan Avenue.

overnight escape
The pool was very small, but luckily there weren't many people there. Not a big selection on the restaurant menu, but we ordered room service, and the food was very good.

Wonderful Overnight Stay!!
I got a room for a place to stay to have a girls night downtown. We arrived later than expected and the staff was wonderful, room was beautiful and loved the down blankets. The only down side was the lack of snack vending machines for our late night snacking. Definitely recommend for family vacation or even an overnight stay in the city. Very much worth the price and then some.

Great location, pricey parking
The hotel is in a perfect location to walk to anywhere you need to go along Michigan Ave, Millenium Park, or the Navy Pier. The parking is pricey, but it is anywhere downtown!
