Impression
1) Since the check-in counter is visually away from the elevator, I couldn't see the service people when I went in and out. Feeling is like a Motel. 2) There is no free WiFi and I didn't want to pay $24 a day to check my e-mail during the vacation. The rent is high already. Why not provide free WiFi? 3) No coffee maker. 4) They seem offer free coffee at the small lobby. However, it was empty when I passed by that morning.

Modern and chic without the attitude
First time at the Sax. The lobby looked like a zoo on Friday night. Service was low key and friendly. My son and I were upgraded to a deluxe room. Overall very nice experience. We checked out the lounge in the am when it was empty. Highly recommended.

fab
The hotel was amazing and in a great location. The rooms were a good size, and very clean, the 42 inch plasma was a bonus, as was the bottle of wine. I doubt i would ever get the same rate again as it was the existing House of Blues Hotel, renovated, so if you want to stay in a great hotel at a great price, book now!

Great Hotel....
My family and I met friends in Chicago during Taste of Chicago week. We each have young children and stayed at the Hotel Sax. The location of the hotel was outstanding within walking distance to everything we wanted to do. We were impressed with the staff from the Bell Men, to the front desk, to the guys working the Studio-Microsoft Lounge. The Bell Men even hooked us up with a Limo to the Navy Pier for fireworks for a great price. The Concierge was also very helpful in getting us dinner reservations as well as setting up our Architectural Tour. The bar tenders at Crimson were great, although we found it and Bin 36 to be very expensive drinking and dining options. All in all, we were very pleased with our experience from the Room, the amenities, the location, and the people. We'll definitely return to the Hotel Sax on our next stays.

Short walk from hotel
Everything is nearby from Michigan Avenue, great restaurants (Shaws/Bella Bacino/Smith and Wollensky/House of Blues/Harry Caray's). Perfect location by the Canal.

Great location and the price was right!
We visit Chicago 1-2 x per year. We found this deal to be the best ever! A beautiful hotel close to shopping and the theater district...and we didn't have to pay for parking. This will be our choice on future visits!

The location can't be beat!
The location can't be beat! In the heart of downtown and right on the river. A beautiful setting! No matter who we encountered on the hotel staff, they showed an extreme friendliness and were very courteous. The beds and pillows were first class, the bathrooms are huge and the rooms have large flat screen televisions.

excellent vacation
We had an excellent vacation. the location is right in the heart of Chicago, walking distance to Millenium Park, Riverwalk, even to the Magnificent Mile. I would recommend this hotel to anybody. The staff was excellent, the room was already ready when we came. No hassle. They knew who we were. Would book with Cheap Tickets and this hotel again!!!!
