"A night in the city"

Great location, however a few "misses" in the room: no hand soap for use in the bathroom sink....ick!! There was shower gel/shampoo/conditioner available in the shower in large containers---that was okay, but, really...every sink needs some sort of hand soap!! Also, we noticed on a hanger that we should have had robes to use, none there, so we did ask at the desk---just so we weren't accused later of theft! Hand soap and robes were later delivered to our room, but, again, hand soap should not need to be requested at a high end hotel.

Cafe Luxe on Michigan Avenue---always reliable food and service; also, Garrett's Popcorn! Many locations downtown Chicago. Also, for Italian, Baccio's (? exact name...) on Wacker half block or so west of Michigan Ave. Really good food!

Evening Downtown

The location, amenities, room cleanliness and staff were all excellent. Valet parking at the hotel was a bit steep but I'm sure that is the rate for all hotels in this location of the city. But we received a special offer through Orbiz that provided additional perks by booking through them and a discounted parking was one.

Fabulous Chicago Hotel

Fantastic hotel; very friendly, helpful staff - always welcoming with a smile. Room was very comfortable and clean. The decor is great - loved the style and look. The price was right, especially for a hotel near the river (however the view is slightly obstructed by a parking structure. The hotel is in a good location, especially for those of you who want to enjoy State Street and all the area has to offer. Due to the weather it was a bit chilly for walking some places at night but it's a short, cheap cab ride up to the Mag mile area. I'm a frequent Chicago traveler and this is my favorite Chicago hotel (so far!). If my next trip wasn't already booked (and also at an awesome deal) I would definitely be staying at the Sax again in a couple weeks. Will stay again!!! Looking forward to it!

Hotel Sax Chicago

The hotel is clean, the bed was comfortable and it is right across the driveway from the House of Blues. Other than that it was very ordinary at a more-than-ordinary price, doubtful if I'll go there again, there are nicer hotels at much better prices nearby. Even a Motel 6 has in-room coffee service, and only 2 drinking glasses. Plus, they tried to charge us for one of the items from the in-room snack/refreshment center, and we hadn't touched anything in it.

Dinner, a play and an awesome hotel!

I had reservations to a play at the Oriental theater, dinner at Smith and Wollensky and drinsk after with friends at Rockit. It was awesome location and being in the winter, it was nice to be in walking distance of everything! I loved the ambience and decor of the room and the hotel.

Modern and chic without the attitude

First time at the Sax. The lobby looked like a zoo on Friday night. Service was low key and friendly. My son and I were upgraded to a deluxe room. Overall very nice experience. We checked out the lounge in the am when it was empty. Highly recommended.
