The hotel was wonderful. The location couldn't have been more convenient. The people behind the desk gave great restaurant and night out recommendations. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable with a great view. We will be returning there this summer.

Got the job done
Hotel 71's location is hard to beat, and their staff is super friendly. Our stay, however, was not the best. Our room was located directly across from the elevator, making it loud and obnoxious on New Year's eve. The room was about 50 degrees when we arrived, and the outlet in the bathroom and next to the bed did not work. We were told valet parking was $50 (ouch) but they charged me $80 on my credit card (double ouch). We booked a "cityview" king, which gave us a lovely view of an alley and fire escapes.

Night out
Hotel 71 It would have been nice to know of the activities being held at the hotel that night upon check in. When I booked the room. I booked a deluxe king with a city view. The room was nice and very comfortable. The view was of the alley. Not very happy about that. I will difinitely ask about that next time. The in house restaurant Hoyt's was very nice. Food and service very good. Overall we were very pleased with our stay and would book agian (with a different view)

best city view in the world
Fantastic views, if you get a river side room. Fantastic, I can not even begin to describe looking out over the city and looking down the river at all the bridges right below our room. The only complaint I had with the room, and I had read this in other reviews before I booked is that the hallways could be noisy if and only if, some drunk, loud, obnoxious people come home after the bars close and talk loudly all the way down the hall.

Short walk from hotel
Pizzaria Uno is a big tourist spot for great Chicago style pizza, but one block away, Pizzaria DUE is the same owner, same everything and sometimes the lines are lessened. Pizza takes 45 minutes and the wait sometimes takes that long, but they will cook it while you are waiting outside, so the time goes rather quickly.

Business Stay
Great hotel at great location downtown Chicago. Classy decor and very comfortable room. The fitness center was better equipped than most hotels. I was however, disappointed that upon checking out, all I received was drab "goodbye". The visit would be more appreciated if the desk girl had said something like "thank you for staying with us, or, did everything meet your expectations?" I felt welcomed in, and kicked in the butt on the way out.

Fabulous location, Breathtaking views
Friendly, courteous staff. Everyone was helpful and quick to respond to any of our requests. Spacious room on 37th floor, with fantastic view of river and skyline. The location couldn't have been better. We were within walking distance of the Magnificent Mile, Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, Navy Pier, and our favorite seafood and deep dish pizza establishments. While they only have valet parking, you have unlimited access to your vehicle which is a BIG perk in Chicago.

GREAT LOCATION!!
The hotel is in the center of everything... The rooms are very big and clean. There is a resturant right down stairs and they even offer room service. I am planning on going back with my kids next year and am planning on staying at this hotel again!

I can't wait to go back
The hotel 71 was great. The views of the river and city were impeccable. The service was top notch and very accommodating. The room was well appointed, spacious and the location of the hotel was right in the heart of everything I wanted or needed to do. It is close to the Willis Tower, river tours, bus lines, Michigan Ave shopping, nightlife and restaurants. I can't wait to go back.
