Good but not great
The staff was always courteous and helpful, but the cleanliness of the rooms left something to be desired. The bathrooms in particular were not cleaned well. It is definitely not a higher end hotel, with no concierge and a single bellman at any one time. The restaurant/bar was desolate most of the time. However, the price and location make this a decent hotel; it wouldn't be my top pick, but if it was all that is available I wouldn't avoid it.

LOVELY HOLIDAY
It has a perfect location and facilities were very good. It is a perfect hotel for a Chicago holiday and its position is very central for all entertainment.It is the fifth time we have stayed at the hotel because of its position.

Great Experience
Stayed at Hotel 71 while attending Lollapalooza. Staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Rooms were very clean, and location was close to Grant Park. Would highly recommend.

Enjoyable stay for family of four
Staff was pleasant, room was nice, close to the Loop and Northern Michigan Ave. Most everything was in walking distance (Shedd Aquarium and Wrigley field were the only exceptions, but buses were readily available). An indoor pool would have been nice, as well as an ice cream parlor for younger travelers.

Great Location - Easy Walk to Chicago's Magnificent Mile
Hotel 71 offered a great location for our downtown stay. Short walks to shopping, dining and transportation. Room views of the river were great and the hotel was clean and comfortable. Great opportunity to see the city, without a lot of hassle.
