Not sure why this Hotel is only 3 stars.
The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, and even called a cab for us. There is a nice bar...

Very happy customer
This hotel is a little older, and it shows in some minor maintenance issues. I especially would like better bathroom ventilation -- it got pretty steamy during family shower times. But it was a good stay for us, overall. This hotel is oriented toward business travellers, which I always think is a plus -- more professional attitudes among the staff. The linens were clean and crisp -- and they had down comforters on the beds. The bathroom was spotless and had composite counters. If I had been staying longer, I would have wished for a nearby inexpensive restaurant -- the hotel restaurant is a bit pricey for our family. It is just across the street from the CTA complex, so I would stay there for daytripping into the city. For our family, on the sag end of a long trip, it was a refreshing breather before boarding our flight at O'Hare. I would stay there again, for sure.

Hotel was very clean and close to the airport with no airport noise. Comfortable beds and roomy bathroom. Had to make an awkward U-turn on a little street to actually enter the hotel.

Short drive from hotel
While in Chicago there are a bunch of mom and pop ethnic restaurants and bakeries with very tasty unique products not found in most cities.

Easy Access to Blue Line
Five to ten minute walk to the Blue line trains... or you can catch the hotel's shuttle service if your timing is *perfect*. Hotel staff were more than helpful and front desk staff went above and beyond the call of duty to help me iron out a business document glitch. Great food at the restaurant but be aware that closing time is 11 PM. Oh... and the A/C was ice cold (perfect for a summer visit)!

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Buy the 3- or 7-day CTA pass for access to all the CTA trains and bus lines. No need to buy the pass with PACE bus access unless you're going to be visiting the outlying suburbs.

Family Visit
Traveled to Chicago to visit family. The hotel was located right of I-90 and easily accessible (once you figured out access was via the service road and not directly from Cumberland Ave.). Although we had a rental car, there was a CTA train stop across from the hotel within walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were pleasant. The on-site bar/cafe made it convenient to grab a quick breakfast at an affordable price......the complimentary breakfast for hotel guests was a nice touch as well. Overall, a nice experience and value priced.

"Okay for short stay"
Hotel staff receptive when there were problems. Poor exercise equipment. Went to 4 floors for ice. Smoke came into vents at night hotel unable to explain and did not offer to change room. There were some staff very good and knowledgeable as well as willing to make the stay worthwhile. Food was good. Breakfast buffet was a little boring. But worth the $.

Good Hotel , bad shuttle.
I was all ready to blast this place because the Shuttle left us at the hotel for over an hour. All the while we were told that he left 15 minutes ago. Luckily for the hotel their staff is very friendly and helpful. Also a great location, next to the blue line train so you can get into downtown without fighting traffic.

The blue line train station is just a short walk from the hotel. Get the express pass for $10.00 for unlimited train and bus travel for the day. Totally worth it.

Becareful if it RAINS!
Overall this is a decent hotel especially for the price, BUT here are the downfalls. Biggest and most important: If it pours their parking lot will FLOOD! If you are in a low lying spot, your car will FLOOD! Water got to over 2 feet deep everywhere and deeper in other spots. We moved the car at 2:30am and water was within 2 inches of flooding the car! They do not notify you of this. You walk out and find your car flooded. So park on the upper level! At least parking is free here. Other minor things: We called 5 times to get a crib in 4 hours, and were finally told they didn't have any. We had 4 in the room but only got 2 towels every day we were there and had to call for more every time. Sink seemed clogged, even after we asked to get it fixed. Now the good, great location to the blue line, just walk a block and you're on, so we never drove downtown. The restraunt food was actually pretty good, and since kids eat free with paying adult, that worked well for us. Staff was fair, not super friendly but did their job for the most part. Giordano's is within 2 miles! Excellent pizza! Quiet hotel and nice big pool, just bring your own towels down with you. It is within 2 miles of airport and planes fly directly over, but it really wasn't too noticeable with the air running. It's really ify if I would stay again.
