Very dissappointed
We were in Chicago for a conference held at the Allstate arena just 3 miles from the hotel. They would not accomendate our transportation needs even though they said they would as we called prior to arrival. The first room forced on us was a smoking room (we requested NON SMOKING on the reservation) and we were all sick from the room and demanded to be moved. the next room was great but the AC was broken. the third room had a broken toilet and we (3 grown men) were forced to used the club room restroom thankfully that was next door to our room. [...]. THey did, however take off all breakfast charges to the room and on the last day, they were able to fix the toilet. [...] this trip was a bit over the top with our dissappointments.

Okay for the budget
I ordered room service and the food was not good. I ordered a burger w/o onion and well done; they brought it to me with onions and medium rare. I could hear the person in the room next to me snoring, I have never been in a hotel where I awaken by the snoring from the room next door.

Good Trip to Chicago
The hotel room was nice. The breakfast bar which cost $14.28 with tax was not so good. the french toast was cold and the sausage was terrible. The waitress did not speak very good English as well. Make sure you count your change before leaving the restaurant or you may end up shortchanged. Also the cleaning staff did not understand me when I asked what time they would clean our room. They just handed me two towels. My wife and I left at 7:30 AM and returned at 1 PM and the room was still not cleaned. To top it off the cleaning staff was making so much noise talking it made it hard to take a nap. Over all for the price the room was alright. The hotel definately needs to do something about their restaurant and cleaning staff. I would probably stay here again.

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
If you like Korean food go to the Chun Sun Ok restraurant located at 4200 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL. It was a 10 to 15 minute drive from the Holiday Inn O'Hare. Also check out the stores and restaurants along West Lawrence Avenue. Good shopping and bars.

Not what was expected
Our 1st room the ceiling was falling apart in the bathroom. We were able to change rooms but first impression wasn't the best. Our 2nd room was very clean and the bathroom was nice. Then went to use the pool and found out it was outside so we couldn't use the pool do to the time of year it wasn't filled. There was not hot tub available. So for a romantic weekend away not the best place to go. It was very convient to airport really liked that it made it nice for our early morning flight home.

Nothing special, wouldn't stay again
Having stayed at other Holiday Inns, we expected the same type of hotel with the same level of cleanliness and accommodations. We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the airport and a short drive to downtown Chicago. Be prepared for alot of plane noise, which is to be expected so close to the airport. There is also alot of traffic noise as it sits next to a major interchange on the highway. We were disappointed with the outdated decor, the smell of stale smoke in our non-smoking room, the noisy refrigerator, the stains on the pillow cases and the broken vending machine on our floor. Most of these things could be overlooked but we were most disappointed with the noise level of the cleaning staff. They would open the door to each room, move the lock in the door frame to prevent the doors from shutting and then slam the doors against the locks as they went in and out of the rooms. We awoke to the sound of slamming doors 2 mornings in a row at 6 a.m. One good thing about the hotel is its proximity to the blue line train. We were able to leave our rental at the hotel and take the train to Wrigley Field and avoid parking fees at the Cubs game.

It's Alright... (Probably, more towards
The people at the front desk are very nice and friendly. Overall customer service is really not that bad. However... The room wasn't that great. It's not I didn't pay enough to get a good room. It's just one of those small things here and there. The heater does not work well (In Chicago, this is deadly), there is a hole in a curtain, etc. etc. Besides those small things, it's good. You know, it's another one of those hotel.

Showing it Age
Although the location is convenient, the hotel is showing its age. Windows show curtains falling in some areas. For an extra $20 one can add breakfast (which seems high). Elevators were slow and sounds carried through the halls easily. My room had no soap, shampoo or toiletries but I was provided them upon request.

Becareful if it RAINS!
Overall this is a decent hotel especially for the price, BUT here are the downfalls. Biggest and most important: If it pours their parking lot will FLOOD! If you are in a low lying spot, your car will FLOOD! Water got to over 2 feet deep everywhere and deeper in other spots. We moved the car at 2:30am and water was within 2 inches of flooding the car! They do not notify you of this. You walk out and find your car flooded. So park on the upper level! At least parking is free here. Other minor things: We called 5 times to get a crib in 4 hours, and were finally told they didn't have any. We had 4 in the room but only got 2 towels every day we were there and had to call for more every time. Sink seemed clogged, even after we asked to get it fixed. Now the good, great location to the blue line, just walk a block and you're on, so we never drove downtown. The restraunt food was actually pretty good, and since kids eat free with paying adult, that worked well for us. Staff was fair, not super friendly but did their job for the most part. Giordano's is within 2 miles! Excellent pizza! Quiet hotel and nice big pool, just bring your own towels down with you. It is within 2 miles of airport and planes fly directly over, but it really wasn't too noticeable with the air running. It's really ify if I would stay again.
