Hilton isn't 4 star
The room is barely larger than the bed. The temp control doesn't work and the room temp is very high at all times! The shower was extremely dirty and the toilet didn't work very effectively.

Excellent stay, but . . .
We were upgraded to a room with two baths, but had to have someone come to fix the water valve in one of them. On our second night there, a lot of teenagers/young adults were running up and down the hallway til all hours yelling at the top of their lungs. Security should have been patrolling to avert this.

Quick Stay
Attended a function at the hotel and appreciated a good, clean, comfortable room that allowed us to avoid going outside during a Chicago winter night.

Nice, simple
This is a very nice, old world hotel. About a 20 minute walk from the real action of downtown, close to Grant Park, Art Museum etc. Nice staff and great complimentary breakfast. The room was kind of small but nice. A good deal all around.

Decent value, a little big for my taste
The Hilton Chicago is certainly nice enough for the price I paid, but it's not spectacular. Some of the amenities and necessities (e.g., bathroom fixtures) are dated and only mostly functional, but the room was generally clean and quiet. Staff was good and friendly enough when I encountered them, but lord, the hotel is huge. I wandered around for a couple of minutes before I found the registration desk. I'd prefer a smaller, perhaps more updated hotel.

Time-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Make sure to use the El, there's a Red Line station just a couple blocks away. Even walking, it's only a short trip to the Loop.

Luxurious value for budget price!
The hotel was gorgeous, particularly decked out in it's holiday best! First impression upon entry was of the grand, ornate lobby with its giant glittering Christmas tree! Gorgeous and immediately set the mood. Staff was extremely professional and met every need promptly. Bonus was the breakfast buffet to which we were given free passes - a very pleasant surprise as this was not noted as part of the package when booking. Only slightly disappointing was that the rooms were in need of a decor update and baths were quite small. I understand, though, that the hotel is in the midst of a renovation, so this may soon be a mute point.

Nice location
I stay there for a night and I had a great service. When I ask them questions such as "what is close by from this hotel?" or "how do I get to the places that I need to go from here?" one of the gentleman assisted me to the from desk and from there I can more places then I want to go.

Family Trip
Hilton on Michigan was absolutely beautiful - staff was prompt, helpful and courteous - location was excellent - close to transportation - we had a lake view - room was super clean - only downside was internet didn't work in the room and the express check-out option via the phone wasn't really clear how it worked other than that it was an amazing hotel and I would definetly stay there the next time I go to Chicago

Weekend in Chicago
The room had no view and it was loud and small. There was someone whistling out on the street the whole time and car horns were honking.
