Roaring 1920s meets the rockin' present
Towering 40 floors above the Magnificent Mile, the Hard Rock Hotel Chicago was an institution long before celebrity guests like Dave Navarro passed through its black polished granite and terra cotta walls. The Carbide & Carbon Building earned landmark status in 1996 for its designóa champagne bottle with gold-foil top bubbling over the Windy City. Today, the property takes on rocker appeal and remains a popular place to stay. Room walls are covered with rock-n-roll memorabilia and hip room decor to keep the party going all night long.
Highlights
  • On the Magnificent Mile, near Millennium Park and Grant Park
  • China Grill Restaurant
  • 10 free iTunes downloads
  • Gibson Guitar rentals
  • Staffed business center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Rooms
Rooms and suites at the Hard Rock Hotel Chicago merge the subtle with the bold, like taupe walls accented by Tigerwood furniture and white linens dressed with colorful pillows. Windy City Art Gallery Trip

A friend and I decided to take an impromptu trip to Chicago. We were very pleased to stumble upon this lovely little gem of a hotel. It had everything we needed for our trip. It was centrally located between all the cities best attracations. The staff was extremely helpful, and friendly. Both the restaurant and bar were a pleasant, and convenient addition to our stay at The Hard Rock Hotel. Overall, I can say that our experience was very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend staying here, and would definitely return for another stay at this establishment.

Decent hotel, great location

I enjoyed my stay at the Hard Rock during a business trip. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. I didn't hear any road side noise throughout the night. Didn't check out much of the hotel, but they had live music going on at least one of the weekday nights I was there. Good spot.

TJ maxx has some great bargains. Yes in America it's called TJ Maxx not TK Maxx. You can walk almost anywhere in Chicago, I would do this rather then get any of their transport systems.

Great hotel!

We had a Great experience at this hotel. We arrived early and our rooms were ready which we had hoped for but not requested. We walked everywhere so never had to retrieve our car. We had a corner room so we could see the river out one side, and Millennium Park out of the other. Great weekend!

Great Location

The hotel was nice and in a great location!! You could walk to shopping, restaurants, nightlife, etc. We stayed in a studio suite. The views were wonderful. The room was a little run down for the price. The sheets were dirty and the couch was old. It wasn't horrible, but would probably stay somewhere else for my next trip.

Love this place!

I love the Hard Rock Hotel in Chicago! The rooms are super nice! there was a king bed, a dresser, an amour, and a chair, so there is space in the room but not a ton of space to put your bag other than the floor, if you're like me and don't unpack at hotels. I love the location! right across from the mile and just a couple blocks from state street, so great for shopping! also not far from grant park or navy pier, both are within walking distance. Parking is $60 for valet but you can get your car out as many times as you like.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Right across the street is stillwater bar and grill. The food is good and reasonably prices, but it being right across the street is nice. Also, highly recommend eating at Eataly! its a grocery store but upstairs there are 4 different restaurants. It is a little crowded and noisy so not great for a romantic experience but highly recommend it! Its not far from the hotel just across the river on Ohio Street.
