Post-Christmas 2010

The 2-room king suite was nice and very clean. It appears to have been updated in the last year or two. We had a view of downtown Chicago from our bedroom. There was ample drawer space for a family of three to unpack for 4 days. The closet was small, but there was additional hanging space in the living room armoire. The cook-to-order breakfast was great. The food was prepared well and there were a lot of choices, including omelets. However, get there before 7:30am to avoid a long line during such a busy week. The hotel's location was convenient. We walked to the Shedd Aquarium (~1.7m), Hancock (.6m), and Navy Pier (only 3-4 blocks). A few minor things to note: If you are afraid of heights then the atrium-design of the hotel might be disconcerting (all rooms open to an balcony-style hallway). Also, they could use a little more light in the living area in the room. It's a bit dark.

We had a really great time.

We had a really great time at the Embassy Suites Chicago-Downtown/Lakefront. Room was great for us and our college-age daughter. Breakfast was crowded, but the food was good. Guess that's why it was crowded! One of the best things about this hotel is location. When we arrived at O'Hare, we took the train in and then had a reasonable walk to the hotel. We found we were in reasonable walking distance to everywhere we wanted to be - shopping on State Street, the Bank of America Theatre, the Magnificent Mile, 4th Presbyterian Church, Millenium Park, the John Hancock Building, etc.

Great Location

We spent 2 nights at the Embassy Suites and it was great. The location was perfect; easy to get to and park, within walking distance to Willis Tower, the Shedd aquarium, Navy Pier, Michigan St. Great made to order breakfast in the morning and a happy hour at night. The staff was friendly and courteous. We would go back

clean and quiet

Check in was easy--room was clean and comfortable, and there were even 2 tvs--one in the living area, one in the bedroom. Terrific space for the price!! Not a lot of options on room service menu, but portions were large.

Use the EL to get from O'Hare to the hotel and back. It's only $2.45, and the closest stop is a quick 4 block walk.

Excellent Location, Close to Magnificent Mile - Room was very clean & comfortable. Atmosphere was very cordial & inviting. The breakfast was excellent & very convenient. Also, loved the hostess at the continental breakfast (She wore Amber Romance body mist from Victorias Secret!!!!!!). She was very delightful & was a pleasant start for our morning.
