Great weekend!

My husband & I stayed in downtown Chicago for our anniversary weekend. We had a king two-room suite & it was perfect! The staff was excellent & friendly. The complimentary breakfast & reception were both very nice, though there were lines - but not very long. The location was great - we went on the River walk which is just a couple of blocks away. The room was wonderful & we had a very romantic anniversary! We'll definitely be back!

Work & Play

Was not told about parking for your vehicle. [...] have a rate of $229 per night, but did not include the $46 per night for parking. No other place to park your vehicle. [...] The hotel would not give refund or break on parking.

Good location, old, dirty hotel

Great location, old, dirty hotel. Room was not clean at all and smelled. Also, very old not updated. Clock did not work, doors to armoires broken, dirt and sticky stuff on bed headboards as well as on sofa and chairs. Pool was dirty. Very long lines at buffets. Needed 60,000 hilton honors points for one night stay and that is ridiculous.

Not Delivered As Promised

Purchased 2 room suite on a non-refundable basis but hotel gave us a 1 room suite. It took 90 minutes, and plenty of complaining on our part to get us moved to a nearby Homewood Suite. I would not recommend using the Embassy Suite Non-Refundable option because if they have oversold their 2-room suites, it will take plenty of effort on your part to get you moved to another hotel to get the suite that you already paid for!

Best location I've found

This was a perfect location for walking to all downtown attractions, just blocks from The Art Institute, shops on State and Michigan Ave, ESPN, Gino's East, etc. The complimentary breakfast was a terrific and easy way to get the day started.

Hotel and breakfast good

Everything was fine except the cost of parking a car. The free breakfast was good, but the evening reception needs a lot of work. Better wine and more people to serve drinks as the line was usually 15+ deep most of the time.

romantic get-away

I have traveled to Chicago on many occasions for pleasure. This hotel was perfect for location - close to nightlife, restaurants, mass transit, entertainment. The breakfast and happy hour made it a perfect reason why it was so affordable. The entire staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large, the bed comfortable and fridge and microwave helpful. Probably due the amenities there were quite a few families with children. Although they did not bother me the presence was noted. However due to the type of establishment they were well mannered. The convenience of a grocery store next door was great. I would definitely plan on staying there on my return trip

Perfect location and reasonable price

Most points of interest for a 1st time visit are within easy walking distance of the hotel. Getting to other locations (China Town, Green Mill, Airport) were easily accomplished on the El via a local stop within one and a half blocks from the hotel.

Very Satisfied!

The staff was very pleasent and helpful. We always enjoy the big breakfast to start the day! Would like to see this location update the tv's in the bedroom. We like to watch tv in bed, but the bedroom has a out dated small tv. Other then that it was a great stay at a great value!

Great spot to set up camp in Chicago

We enjoyed a brief family reunion in Chicago, and the Embassy Suites met the mark. We've stayed in at least twenty hotels in Chicago, and, with the exception of the Peninsula (my all-time favorite US hotel), the staff at the Suites was exceptional: Helpful, friendly, cheerful and polite. Location was great, off the Michigan Avenue frenzy but close to everything. Very easy to navigate to the hotel, and two options for parking. THe parking staff, by the way, also stood out for service. Breakfast was most appreciated, and there is a Starbucks if you need high-test coffee to start the day.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The Italian restaurant in the hotel is quite good. We had dinner another night at Les Nomades, easy walking distance from the hotel, and exceptional in every way.
