Not good
Overpriced, kid at front desk didn't know much about area, resturants, etc. No concierge service. Room right next to elevator heard the noise all night, like a bus or train. Remote didn't work well, carpet dirty, light switch broke while we were in room. Just bad for the price, never again at this property.

Don't choose this one
I used to have a good experience in Crown Plaza at Dubai. However, the days at Crown Plaza Chicago is an awful experience. The room is pretty good. But the service is terrible. After I leave the hotel, I found a transaction of more than $200 on my credit card (it's not a pending deposit!) I tried to contact the hotel to figure out what it is but get no reply. They can't tell me what the money is for and refuse to refund the money. What's the difference between this and a stealer?!

Crowne Plaza Hotel
The hotel was decent looking and the accomadations were okay. This hotel was not over the top by any means, but paid over $300 for the night. There was an event going on, but the price was really high. One thing we all really liked about the room was it had a balcony and it had a great view of the city. Other than that it was an oridinary room. Didn't seem like much was around either. Also, the day we were heading out we called down 30minutes before we were going to leave for a taxi and the lady said they already had taxis all "lined" up already. When we got down there was no taxis available and waited for 15+ minutes before deciding to walk to find one. Seemed like others received the same response and it actually happend the day before to someone else. Not sure what the situation was there and why they said they had the taxis lined up and there were none at all.

Definitely recommended
This hotel is right on the edge of downtown. It's only a few blocks from the Sears Tower. But, if you don't feel like walking too much, buses and trains can take you anywhere in the city. A bus stop is literally across the street from the hotel and it's only about 10-15 minute ride up to the lake front (Millennium Park/Art Institute/Gold Coast/Magnificent Mile). You're also next door to many essentials - two Starbucks, Walgreens, and a supermarket. Our room had a really modern feel and was super clean and comfortable. I think I read that the hotel was either built or remodeled in 2005. It definitely seemed up to date. I believe there is free Wi-Fi, but we were not traveling with a computer. The hotel has a small business center with four 4 computers available to guest for free. Unfortunately, they were having an issue with the printer when we were there, but the front desk staff offered to print our boarding passes in their office - they definitely went above and beyond.

"Great location, nice hotel"
This hotel was in prime condition for downtown tourist attractions, as well as close to the United Center for the Bulls Playoff game that we attended. Great service and a clean environment.

Labor Day Trip
Hotel was a little out of the Loop. Address was 733 West Madison, but was actually about 20 blocks from the center of town due to the way Chicago numbers their buildings. Front desk had trouble keying my room cards. One would work and the other one would not. We would go and get it rekeyed and then the other card would not work. This happened 3 times. On sunday morning, I was awaken early from noise in the next room. This went on for about 3 hours in the early AM. Of course, this was not any reflection on the hotel.
