Not good
Overpriced, kid at front desk didn't know much about area, resturants, etc. No concierge service. Room right next to elevator heard the noise all night, like a bus or train. Remote didn't work well, carpet dirty, light switch broke while we were in room. Just bad for the price, never again at this property.

Don't choose this one
I used to have a good experience in Crown Plaza at Dubai. However, the days at Crown Plaza Chicago is an awful experience. The room is pretty good. But the service is terrible. After I leave the hotel, I found a transaction of more than $200 on my credit card (it's not a pending deposit!) I tried to contact the hotel to figure out what it is but get no reply. They can't tell me what the money is for and refuse to refund the money. What's the difference between this and a stealer?!

So disappointed.
I'm not one to write negative reviews, but I couldn't NOT warn future guests. Valet was rude and only wanted your tips (didn't do anything to deserve my money), upon walking in, the front desk ignored us to chat it up with the bell hop, who should have been taking our luggage. We weren't greeted with a smile from anyone...after checking in, the front desk man wrote our room number on our key, slid it to us, and sent us on our way. He never pointed us in the direction to the elevators, nothing. He didn't even audibly tell us our room number. After getting into the room, things were just junky and awkward, shower drain was broke, bathroom door didn't give us any kind of privacy. We felt uncomfortable the whole time we stayed. Not one person made us feel welcome. We tried to engage some employees in casual conversation as well, only to be stared at blankly, with no response. When we were finally leaving and had our car pulled up, the bell hop just stood there and watched my fiancé load our luggage in the car until he saw me tip the valet, then he grabbed literally the last back from the cart and put it in the car. Weirdest place ever. I've been shown much greater hospitality at a Super 8. Crowne Plaza should be ashamed of themselves. I absolutely will never stay again. I'd rather pay $100 more and stay somewhere else.

Watch The Snobby Check In Clerk
The room was nicely put together but a bit small for the price tag. Sadly the front check in was a snob and barely wanted to let someone take our bags out at the last day. Other than that the staff was very nice. Dine was a wonderful restaurant to relax and have a great meal.

When I ask the staff about how to go to UIC by bus. They only said ask the tourist information center. I think it's bad. They should be more friendly

Crowne Plaza Hotel CHICAGO-METRO
We had to call a few times about technical issues in the room. There is only valet in and out parking, and, when you walk out the door you can see your car (less than 50 feet away, valet parking not needed, but no choice.

Comfortable stay but not spectacular
Positives • Blocks from Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower) in the Greek District • Excellent Greek restaurants & shops nearby within a block or 2 • Nice rooms, but the sliding exposed pocket door on the bathroom took some betting used to. • Awesome reading lights in the executive rooms • 2 drug/groceries on either side of hotel • 3 Starbucks nearby – like within a block each direction (1 inside a drugstore/grocery). • Conference rooms etc were excellent • Catered breakfasts and lunches were excellent. Neutral • If not into 24 hours news or sports channels and nothing interesting on the Weather Channel or HBO, kind of out of luck on the TV. But does have PPV movies if you're into that. • 15 minute walk from Blue line near IHC & Halstead and 15 minute walk from Pink line at Lake and State. Not much of an issue unless have lots of bags, inclement weather, etc. (Strangely enough, there is no shuttle service whatsoever – to airport, to CTA, nothing. But I've stayed many times at lower quality level hotels out by Midway (HIExpress, Courtyard Marriott, etc) and they all have a shuttle service to Midway from which you can obviously fly, take a bus OR catch the subway. Odd this much higher end part of the HI chain doesn't offer something here at this hotel). Negatives • Elevators smell like cigarette smoke • Wireless internet in room is slooooooww & often times out before pages boot up. Ethernet in room didn't help much as the hotel website and firewall was incompatible. Internet even in business center was painfully slow also. • Desk clerk at check-in advised because booked stay thru Orbitz they wouldn't count stay towards Priority Club points. (Boo!) • Desk clerk made a dramatic statement about how wireless internet in the rooms is complimentary. Good thing they don't charge – it is DOG slow wireless internet. The internet connection in the hotel business center isn't any better. We were on the 6th floor and still heard plenty of street noise. Suggest highest floor available.

Wasn't the best hotel but was still nice
We decided to stay in Chicago for a night just as a getaway. We were able to have a nice dinner and visit a couple attractions Chicago has to offer. I thought the hotel wasn't too bad. I've been in better hotels for the price, but I thought the service was great!
