The guest rooms and suites at Courtyard by Marriot could pass for downtown Chicago condos with their sleek furnishings, wood headboards and black and white photos of the skyline. Spacious baths and granite vanities further the upscale feel, while an ergonomic chair and wide desk provides comfort for bringing work projects back to the hotel room. Wi-Fi Internet access is complimentary. The hotel also touts larger rooms than the competition.

Nice

We enjoyed our stay in Chicago. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The location was great. The traffic on the street outside the hotel was noisy. We took a sound machine for white noise which helped alot. If we hadn't had that, it would have been difficult to sleep.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Enjoyed our lunch at Giordano's Pizzeria. They open at 11:00. Loved our trip to the American Girl Place. Could have passed on dinner there. A bit pricy.

bad advertising on the kids eat free

My room was very clean everyday. That was the best part of my stay. The promotion we booked under was kids eat free everyday breakfast, lunch and dinner. Don't let that get you because they are not open for lunch and dinner is served in the BAR with limited meals for the adults which have to be bought in order for the kids to eat. It did not say that in the rules for the promotion. I went there with limited funds knowing I only had to pay for my meals and had to spend lunch crying not knowing where we were going to eat because Chicago has lots of expensive resturants and not very many afforadable for families, except Mcdonalds which is quite a ways away from hotel. All the staff was very friendly except when we had no place to eat and nobody would help. The one lady gave me a list of resturants in the area which included steak houses and places like P.F. Changs. They were all above a family budget.

It Lived up to its name

We have no complaints. The staff were very helpful and prompt in getting our luggage and car. The bed and pillows were wonderful, the softest of any hotel we've ever stayed in - something you don't always get in a hotel.

Not Too Bad

Great Location, and a great staff. All were very friendly and helpfull. Only problem we had, when trying to order movie from off of the TV, we could not get it to work. Staff worked on TV, but was also unable to get it to work.

The worst stay ever!

There was mold on the bathroom ceiling and in the window sill..you couldn't see out of the window because it was dripping wet with perspiration- not that we would have wanted to as it overlooked the rooftop of another building below (we were on the 11th floor) and we couldn't go outside walking after 7 p.m.with the kids because of the people right outside from our exit begging, drinking alcohol, and fighting coming from the bar across the street. It was the worst place ever for the money. the pictures are very deceiving

Nice, but noisy!

While this hotel was clean and the staff was friendly, we weren't prepared for the fact that it's directly across the street from a jazz club, which pipes its music into the street (even on Sunday night!) The hotel is also steps away from a very busy fire station, so sirens were heard around the clock. The king-size bed was very comfortable, but with the sofa bed pulled out, there was basically no floor space left. Otherwise, the location is within walking distance of great restaurants and the Mag. Mile. We ate at the Rainforest Cafe (with 6-year-old) because the wait at the Hard Rock was too long. Overall, a nice place, if you don't mind the noise.

Buy tickets on-line before you go to the aquarium or museums. The lines are unbearably long!

Nice hotel

Nice hotel, small bathroom, no water pressure. Just down from the firehouse - sirens ALL night on St. Patrick's Day Parade weekend. Good location to walk to Michigan Mile, $10 cab ride to museums, aquarium and Second City.

Rainforest cafe and Weber Grill were very good. The restaurant in Courtyard Marriott is only open for breakfast on weekends. Hard Rock cafe short walking distance as well.
