Contemporary luxury on the Magnificent Mile
The Conrad Chicago hotel might be a shopper's best-kept secret, like a Chanel bag on sale. Removed from the crowds, the 17-story Conrad maintains a strong city presence with rooms that look out across twinkling lights and landmark buildings. Touches of elegance dominate, but not in an old-fashioned way. Look for the bold and understated to work together, like an oversized mirror against a neutral-colored wall. Don’t miss the rooftop bar for breathtaking city views.
Highlights
  • Stunning city views from the seasonal rooftop bar and 24-hour fitness center
  • An eclectic menu featuring seasonal, local ingredients at The Restaurant at Conrad
  • Just an elevator ride away from the Shops at North Bridge on the Magnificent Mile
Rooms
The rooms and suites at the Conrad Chicago hotel ooze a sophisticated style. Find 500-count linens, pillow menus and chenille arm chairs. Natural light from the windows fill the rooms by day, while recessed lighting creates a sultry feel at night. Fresh-cut flowers and plants bring extra joy and greenery to suites. Enjoy nightly turndown service.

For there tech-savvy traveler, each room features free wireless Internet access, an iPod alarm clock with charging/docking station and 42-inch plasma flat-screen TVs.
Features
The Restaurant at the Conrad Chicago hotel puts a Midwestern spin on Asian cuisine. The Restaurant, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, relies on seasonal organic ingredients to create dishes with flair. Tufted banquettes and striped wallpaper lend a loveliness to the dining space that transcends time.

For cocktails or date nights, head to The Terrace at the Conrad Chicago hotel, a seasonal rooftop lounge that could easily double as a South Beach haunt in warmer months. Day beds and chaises with oversized pillows provide a casual contemporary backdrop to that stunning skyline. Pull up a chair at an umbrella table to soak in those views.

The large fitness center features state-of-the-art cardiovascular and strength-training equipment, as well as stunning city views.

Love the Conrad, Don't bother dining

Perfect location, at southern end of the Mag Mile, that way you can walk (or cab) all the way up and back and not worry about missing something or needing to back track. Also, it's connected to a smaller mall (Shops at North Bridge) which includes some good stores. So if you aren't really interested in doing a lot of shopping or if the weather is bad, you have this readily accessible alternative. Everything else about the hotel was great, except they were in the middle of renovations on the lobby floor so it's not the most esthetically pleasing but it didn't affect any other floor that I could see. NOW, my biggest complaint...the dining option(s) in the hotel are an absolute disappointment!!!!! Overly-gourmet menu selections, in cuisine-sized portions at obnoxious prices. Even the cocktail menu at the bar was ridiculous ($14-16). And it has nothing to do with it being a 4-star hotel. I have stayed at the Indianapolis location which is attached to an upscale restaurant, but from room service to seated dining, the menu is more diverse and portions are filling. The prices are still relatively high but are justified. Fortunately there is a decent food court in the connected mall and other nice restaurants in the immediate area. Point is.....DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY OR APPETITE ON THE HOTEL'S FOOD SERVICE:(

Visited family, toured downtown Chicago with great ease. I had not stayed at this quality of Hilton

the staff were proficient, courteous, professional and efficient. Would have liked to have had small wet bar in room.

visit with friends

Room was very clean and comfortable. Although complimentary coffee was available early in the morning, I would prefer to have a coffee maker in the room, but this is not a big issue and would not prevent me from recommending this hotel to other travelers. Location is great, easy access to everything.

Why Stay Anywhere Else?

The staff, to include the front desk and the doormen, was friendly and very informative. For example, I always had questions about where to go to eat and was provided with a different suggestion each time also the rooms don't come with a personal fridge but when I asked for one it was brought to my room within 10 minutes. Don't rent a car....you can walk everywhere you need to go for shopping and food.

Affordable Luxury on the Mile!

Excellent location and the price was almost $100/night cheaper than a hotel that is close to this location and was not as impressive. The rooms were surprisingly quiet as we never heard the people next to us or any noise from the hall. The staff was extremely nice to my older parents. None of us are big on hanging out in the hotel, so we have no comment on the restaurant, bars, gym/pool, or business center. We loved the convenience to the train so we could explore the city. I will stay here again, hopefully in the near future.

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

Take the train to Clinton stop on the green line and go to AVEC. You'll have to wait and there is not seating for patrons (consider if you have seniors with you) waiting for a table, but the food is some of the best! Hot Chocolate is not a far train ride and I had the best braised rabbit ever. Finally, The Greek Islands is a not to miss place and a short walk from another convenient train stop. It's obviously real Greek food (if you've never had Greeks cook for you) because Greek families eat there. This hotel is excellent for shoppers as well!

Quiet luxury in bustling Chicago

Easy to get to from Expressway, easy self- or valet parking, extremely convenient location - walking distance to EVERYTHING. Lobby is on 5th floor, elegant and quiet. Nice terrace there as well. Rooms were comfortable and luxurious; the bathtub was the best I've ever had anywhere - including bathrooms I've renovated! I will stay here every time I go to Chicago.

Conrad Chicago

The Conrad considers itself a 4+ star hotel - it's not. The housekeeping was unpredictable - some days fine, other days no vacuuming or dusting. A burnt out light bulb not replaced for the entire 7 day stay. The main corridor was only vacuumed once in 7 days. The Doormen were more interested in standing around chatting with each other than actually opening the front door. On the positive side, rooms were nice - bathrooms were excellent in both size and fixtures. Rooms were also fairly quiet - the only noise came from the hallways and was not a significant issue. Street noise can be an issue if you face Michigan Avenue. I paid roughly a 3 Star hotel price so overall I wasn't too disappointed. If I had been paying rack rate or anywhere near it, I would have been very unhappy.
