Excellent Hotel

City Suites Chicago is a friendly, urban hotel with stately charm. It has quiet rooms, despite being next to a commuter train station. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, who would like a central location from which to explore Chicago. The rooms are clean, the staff friendly and helpful, and the continental breakfasts are sumptuous.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The restaurant Orange is down Belmont and to the right on Clark, featuring the best pancake breakfasts in Chicago! Nookie's Tree is one more block down Belmont, and left two or three blocks on Halsted: a terrific 24-hour diner.

Very Affordable Right in Wrigleyville

If you're looking for a place to stay on a budget anywhere near Wrigleyville and the north-side of the city this place is great. Nothing fancy but for a quick and cheap weekend getaway it is great. Amenities are not abound beyond a continental breakfast (endless supply of coffee day and night) but if you don't need a pool or workout facility its no big deal. There are plenty of bar/food options in the area and in immediate walking distance. Dunkin Donuts too. Great deal and great location. Friendly staff, comfy rooms (small TV's but not a deal breaker), close the L and loads of bars and restaurants. We stayed on the L Side of the hotel last time and the trains didn't bother us in the least in terms of noise.

Nightlife tip: Long walk from hotel

Went to the theater while there and it was a long walk. Parking was off site around the corner and 1/2 a block away so you could get your car if need be. Close to the neighborhoods where we have friends and family if you do not need to be downtown this is a great way to go.

HIGH END AMENITIES FOR A REASONAL PRICE

THE ROOM I STAYED IN WAS A BEAUTIFUL CLEAN SUITE WITH 2 QUEEN BEDS & AND A CONVERTIBLE COUCH IN THE LIVING ROOOM AREA. THE MATTRESSES WERE COMFORTABLE, HAD FLUFFY COMFORTERS & MINK FEELING BLACK BLANKETS. EACH ROOM HAD A NICE SIZE FLAT PANEL TELEVISION WITH MULTIPLE CABLE CHANNELS. THE BATHROOM WAS ROOMY & HAD LARGE THICK SOFT WHITE TOWELS. WALL MOUNTED HIGH QUALITY SHAMPOO, CONDITIONER, BODY WASH & BODY LOTION DISPENSERS ADDED A LUXURIOUS TOUCH. EACH ROOM ALSO HAD AN IRON, BLOW DRYER AND WET BAR. ALTHOUGH THE HOTEL WAS NEAR THE TRAIN, AND ON A BUSY STREET, OUR ROOM FACED THE BACK AND WAS EXTREMELY QUIET. THE WINDOW VIEW WAS OF A BRICK WALL, BUT WHO CARES? EVERY MORNING BREAKFAST INCLUDED DONUTS, BAGELS, BOILED EGGS ETC. COFFEE. TEA AND HOT CHOCOLATE WERE SUPPLIED 24 HOURS A DAYS, AND EVERY EVENING COOKIES WERE ALSO OFFERED. THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL. THE MAIDS PROVIDED IMPECCABLE SERVICE, AND PLACED A CARD EVERY MORNING WITH THE DAILY WEATHER FORECAST. THE ONLY THING LACKING WAS ENOUGH STORAGE & DRESSER SPACE,ESPECIALLY SINCE THE SUITE COMFORTABLY SLEEPS 4 PEOPLE. THE LOBBY WAS NICELY FURNISHED, BUT I DID NOT LIKE THE STRONG SMELL OF INCENSE THAT PERMEATED EVERYTHING; AND SINCE THE ENTIRE HOTEL WAS A SMOKE FREE ZONE, I FELT THAT IT WAS NOT NECESSARY. I WAS PLEASANTLY SUPRISED BY MY STAY AT THIS HOTEL, AND DEFINITELY WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN

Great Stay!

I really enjoyed the stay at City Suites Hotels in Chicago. The staff went beyond the call of duty to make sure our stay was memorable. The parking garage was close as well a Wrigley Field. I was worried about the noise as we stayed on the side of the train, but this caused no distractions for us. The only thing that could have made our trip better was a Cubs win. Maybe next time.

Great Vacation

The staff is very friendly and very accommodating. The location was perfect for what we wanted and needed in our trip. The hotel is small and is more attentive than what you would see in larger chains.

WONDERFUL HOTEL

This place was so beautiful and charming. It was like spending three nights in a friend's home. I loved that they let the building show it's age (in a good way) there was radiant heat, crown-moulding, art-deco light fixtures, etc. Yet it was very clean and neat. It was is an AWESOME location. Right next door to a major CTA station. We rode the bus, subway, and el trains everywhere we wanted to go. My only dislike was that the bathroom was rather small for two people trying to get reay for an event. But if we weren't always running late, it probably wouldn't have mattered!! Also, i am a light sleeper and suffer from insommnia and you could hear the el-trains alot. But i actually slept fine and the sounds didn't bother me at all, to be honest i kind of liked it, it was oddly comforting, but i thought i would let otheres know, just in case!!

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

This hotel has a Chicago Transit map that shows you all the train and subway lines and bus route, so deffinately pick one up. Also at some stations you can buy a CTA 3-day pass for $14 and get unlimited rides on all city busses, trains, subways, etc. IT was such a cheap easy way to get around!! Right across the street is AHZA Thai resturaunt it is EXCELLENT and abundant servings for a good price!!

Excellent Stay; Incredible Value

I booked online and got a smoking great deal! So, I checked out the user reviews and the website pictures, etc. I finished the booking and everything was correct at check-in time. Great front desk and housekeeping staff. We thoroughly enjoyed how this vintage hotel has been very well maintained; and even more pleased with the cleanliness of our room. A job well done.
