Families will find the accommodations both comfortable and affordable. Savor a wide range of cuisines in Mei's Kitchen, where Asian, American and Italian dishes compete for guests' attention. Looking for a little exercise? Take advantage of the seasonal outdoor pool and sundeck or visit the fitness room. It's also an easy train ride away from both O'Hare and Midway Airports.Best Western Grant Park Rooms

nice people, disappointing room
Friendly service. Inexpensive room not as nice as Redroof farther north, which would have been cheaper. Internet service deathly slow. Room was clean but somewhat faded--about what I expected for the price

Where should I start. The hotel is old and run down. It's in a nice part of town, which is the only reason I didn't just walk right out as soon as I saw the "lobby". The hallways smelled funny and you were lucky to find an English speaking employee. When I booked the room, I chose non-smoking room but when I arrived, they let me know that 3rd party bookings could result in getting a smoking room (for some reason they couldn't explain). The room smelled horrible and wasn't as clean as I thought. To top it all off, the first morning, when I woke up, I didn't have any hot water. None. When I asked the front desk, they told me, in broken English, that a lot of people were showering at the same time. Well no kidding. You mean people don't normally shower at 7:30am in your hotel? Ridiculous. Then I requested a late checkout because my business was running late. They said no. Then I mentioned the cold shower again and they finally gave in and let me check out an hour late. Their attitudes were less than to be desired. This place reminded me of The Shining, except in Mexico. I had to wash all of my clothes when I got home to get rid of the horrible smell. Just spend a little more and stay somewhere else.

Navy Pier is a great place to visit. There is a lot to do and see and the prices are relatively reasonable. Pretty much anything outside the hotel was great. Chicago is a wonderful city :)

Just OK stay
I was in Chicago with my daughter for her college orientation. We stayed in Best Western mostly because of its location. The hotel decor felt somewhat "cold" even doe staff was pretty nice and friendly. We had some "issues" with room itself, A/C was very, very noisy and blowing air behind the currants, toilet bawl was flushing so slow and it overflowed. We had repair man trying to fix it on 3 occasions, it did not work. The shower head was also defective shooting out water like garden hose. Maybe because we are used to stay in much better hotels our experience wasn't as satisfactory

My first Chicago trip
Best Western at Grant park is an excellent location. You are able to walk or bike just about anywhere in the city. The hotel itself has much to be desired, the staff is fairly friendly and the lobby desk is open 24 hrs. the room I got #315 is next to the pool lounge area so I had to keep my curtains closed while I was there for privacy. No coffee maker in the room but you get coffee. huh? They charge $25 per night for "Valet" parking and the only other choice you have is a public garage that charges about the same. You can only have access to you car between 6am and 12am. The room is fairly quiet, could be more quiet though, I think. there is fitness center and a swimming pool. The pool is not indoors and the water is freezing cold. Walking through the hotel, you can tell this is an old building. They have managed to keep it up fairly well though. If I go back to Chicago, I may stay here again but I would not have a car this time as now I know that I can get around the city fairly easy walking or biking or public transport.

Girls Getaway
We got to our hotel 45 minutes early for a check in at 3:00pm. They not only would not let us check in, but we ended up not getting into our room until 4:15!! It totally ruined our plans for the afternoon. The Front Desk Manager did "upgrade" our room...we got a room with a fridge and microwave. The room was nothing special, and in fact, we soon found out we could not have more than 4 things plugged in/running at the same time or else the power would go out! That has never happened to me at a hotel before. We did not let it ruin our trip- but I will not be staying there again.

Outdated, Overpriced
For a last minute room under $200/night this was adequate. The wait to check in was lengthy due to the one person answering the phones and manning the desk. Given a queen bed for two, b/c they were out of kings. Old big box tv's and outdated furniture. Probably the smallest room I've ever stayed in, but was my first '3-star' experience. Room was clean and bathroom and shower were average. Definitely will not risk anything below 3.5 or higher again. Location on South Broad was within long walking distance or short cab ride to N. Michingan and the magnificent mile, a few nice places to grab dinner within 3-4 blocks.

Our trip to Chicago was not enhanced in anyway by staying at this hotel other than the location. When my daughter and I tried to use our hair dryers at the same time we blew the circuit which required a call to the front desk since the room was now totally dark. Had to wait for at least 10 minutes for it to be fixed...smelled like the repair person must have been out smoking. Wall paper peeling off the walls: bathroom door in the gym area won't lock; Sunday morning cleaning staff having a loud discussion in the hall at 8:00 a.m....hey, this is my vacation!

saving is not always a good idea
this was the cheapest option, and with its location we chose it, however, the rooms are too old. The heat did not worked well, and despite their attempts to fix it, it didn't work. we were componsated but the experience was not good.

It's a hotel
More like a dorm than a hotel actually. If I were a student at Columbia College next door, I would be VERY enthusiastic about having free wifi that is spotty at best, cable on an old TV, a pool, and maids.
