Perfect location to see the major sights of Chicago. We walked to Millenium Park and the Chicago Art Museum. Close to ... retaurants. Really enjoyed this ambiance of this small boutique hotel. Wonderful to sip great coffee and eat delicious chocolate croissants for breakfast in your own room (many other choices as well).

It probably had everything we needed and there was myself and my 3 sisters. The location to me was good and the area was ... quiet. We had one issue with the toliet, but was in a hurry when we left so I forgot to tell them. We were able to check in early and also check out a little late. I would reccomend this hotel.

We were here for a shopping trip. The hotel was wonderful and very clean! The rooms were spacious and equipped with ... everything we needed. The room was plush and the bathroom was very nice! The the continental breakfast was very adequate and conveniently located on each floor, however, we suggest that they have a toaster on each floor rather than having to travel to the 4th floor to toast your English muffin. The cocktail hour was wonderful and the snacks were, too! The staff was friendly and very helpful! The location was very convenient. We would definitely stay here again!

The Chicago Theater is just a few blocks from the hotel. What an amazing time! Catch a matinee then skip back to the hotel to change before going out on the town!

The Amalfi is a few blocks from the Magnificent Mile and just a bit longer walk to the Navy Pier and The Loop. Don't miss the Chicago Institute of Art. They have an incredible collection of famous pieces.

Whirlwind Tour of The Windy City
MagMileFan Nov 25, 2009
The Almafi was the perfect spot to find respite after exciting days in Chicago. The lovely European hotel offers incredible ... personalized service, well-appointed rooms, and an enjoyable happy hour at the end of the day, allowing us to visit with other hotel guests over wine and cheese. This gem sits among top Zagat-rated restaurants, the theaters, and world-class shopping. Step outside the doors of the hotel, and you are literally steps away from a fabulous time in the city.

Mojo Nov 24, 2009
The Amalfi has only six floors but has all the amenities you could hope for...extremely courteous and helpful staff, spotless ... rooms, great location for visiting all the tourist attractions, and the generous daily breakfast and evening reception were great ways to begin the day and relax before dinner. I would return over and over. My first trip to Chicago will not be my last.

Great Service & Accommodations
Family on Biz Nov 20, 2009
This was a mixed business/pleasure trip. We did conferences and sightseeing and shopping. The location could not have been ... better. Everything about our stay way absolutely convenient and friendly, clean and comfortable. The Amalfi offers room service/delivery from Harry Carey's Italian Steakhouse-probably the best burger I've ever had.

We went to Chicago to attend a wedding and thought we would see a few sights while we were there. The Amalfi hotel is a very ... service orientated property. Their people are very responsive, informative and helpful. Convient location made it easy for us to catch a cab or walk to our destinations. Executive breakfast and complimentary happy hour were nicely done.

Amalfi and Chicago trip
Peanut Nov 15, 2009
Great staff, and clean rooms. Very helpful in sending us to great pizza place and walk to Sears (Willis Tower). Weather was ... sunny and high 50's and 60's. Harry Carrey's across the street had great filet and key lime pie. 10 pin (bowling) with 27 lanes a block away. Definately invest in City Pass and CTA bus pass as they are less expensive than buying a daily pass. Saw Blue Man Group and it was great, very interactive with audience and great show. you can even get front row seats but be prepared to wear poncho so you don't get the colors all over you. So much to see. Aquarium is great for kids (Fantashea) show. Museum of Science and Industry wsa also great and interactive Kid stuff. Mellenium park was beautiful and loved the sculptures along with many shops on Michigan avenue.

Marie Cline Nov 10, 2009
The staff was helpful; they helped us with some public transportation schedules. The rooms were great - very clean & the bed ... was perfect. We enjoyed the cocktail hour, especially the Amalfitinis (the hotel's signature drink). The fitness center was the only thing that wasn't fabulous, but it was certainly equipped enough for me to get the job done.

Definitely purchase the 3- or 7-day CTA pass, depending on the length of your stay. The Amalfi is very conveniently located near at least 2 train stops (blue and red lines), making it just a hop, skip and jump away from wherever you want to go. $14 for the 3-day pass just could not be beat...it freed up the money we had been planning to use on taxis for restaurants and other entertainment!

"QUARTRO" is a hopping spot, great bar, patio and 2 levels of dining rms. Fun & interesting menu w/ great food. Also, "BANDERA" on Michigan Ave across the street from the Northbridge Mall entry-great jazz nightly, killer food (you have to get the Ceasar Salad & the Oreo cookie dessert!)
--DesignerVW, Houston, TX Sep 21, 2009
Right around the corner from the hotel is a restaurant named "Rockit Bar and Gril" on Hubbard. The burger there was named the best in the nation by GMA and when you have it you know why! Try it with the sweet potato fries.

--vsmom46, Jersey City, NJ Sep 3, 2009
Dont waste time, gut or money at the Billy Goat Tavern. Rotten pre-maid hamburger patties...yummy! But to be fair, the bun wasnt all bad. There is a great West African restaurant though right outside the El Wilson stop on the red line. The main guy working there was extremely nice and eager to please, especially considering we were 3 white guys in an African restaurant(not a racist statement but we were not the "regular" customers), but he treated us extremely well.
