Friendly, Quiet Boutique Hotel
The Amalfi was a great choice with Large comfortable rooms, clean large bathrooms and a sitting area. I liked the fact that a continental breakfast was set up on each floor by the elevators. The staff was very helpful with dinner suggestions, getting a taxi and any of our needs. This hotel is right in the center of downtown chicago..walking distance to the theater district, walking distance to the Navy Pier and Millineum park, The Magnificent Mile of shopping and many others! We will be staying there again!

My review of Amalfi Hotel Chicago
Good location. Very nice that they do a guest reception in the early evenings. Friendly staff. Housekeeping needs a little work but other than that, a good experience.

The Amalfi is outstanding!
The Amalfi hotel was absolutely wonderful. We had a great experience and the location was great for what we planned. We were just 2 blocks from the theatre district and 2 blocks from the magnificent mile shopping. We did a lot of walking but were close to the free trolley and bus stops if we had chose to ride. The breakfast on each floor was a wonderful treat, no hot food but plenty of fruit, pastries bagels etc. Also had coffee, tea, and fruit juices. The happy hour each night was wonderful also, just the spot for a quick bite to eat and a drink before going out. Be sure to try the Amalfitini they were great. We couldn't have been more pleased, our room was very roomy, the bed was dreamy and the products in the bathroom were great...and did I mention the dual shower heads...just heavenly after a day of shopping. We would definitly stay at the Amalfi again! PS: all the bad reviews over the construction... we did not hear any noise at night and most of the downtown area seems to be under construction so I would guess that any hotels in the area have had to deal with some noise but we had very quiet and peaceful nights!

Perfect Location
The Amalfi was a great surprise. It just a block away from a block of bars. Short distance from the magnificent mile and everything else. Aside from the location, it was just so clean and welcoming. Every morning they had a mini breakfast buffet set up by the elevators. It had juice, tea, coffee and pastries. And fruit if you got their early enough. The concierge was great and very friendly. Everything was just right. I recommend the hotel.

Great location
The Amalfi was very modern, with great personal service. Our room was average in size, and the bathroom was very large. I do wish there had been another sink outside the bathroom (it would have made it easier to get ready in the morning). A continental breakfast on each floor of the hotel and an afternoon Happy Hour made the hotel a good value. The Happy Hour did have a limited time (5:30 - 7:00), so my friend and I missed it on the first day. The location was only a few blocks to Michigan Ave shopping and the House of Blues was 1 block away. Would definitely stay there again if I were in Chicago. The only issue was the phone on the nightstand was never fixed (I would keep getting a busy signal).

Terrific location, very clean and good staff.
The Amalfi is very well located with very pleasant and helpful staff. No on-premises dining but lots of nearby dining and very nice complimentary breakfast and cocktail hour. We were very satisfied and would definitely return to the Amalfi Hotel.

For the independent traveler
The Amalfie Chicago was a wonderful, comfortable, friendly hotel. They had a nice breakfast spread on each floor every morning and a nice wine & cheese social every evening on the 6th Floor. What I liked most was that they left me to my own devices. No one jumped to take my bags or knocked to get in my room or any of that... which was a plus for me. It was very casual and relaxed. No frills. The room was great, modern and good sized. Nice view and quiet. Big bathroom too. Good location. I was able to walk nearly everywhere. The only things that one should know, the room service options are limited as everything comes from one restaurant across the street, there is no bar in the hotel and overnight parking is $39 each day. I'd stay there again.

Go get your bottled water from the 7-11 down the street. The water in the room costs a lot!!!! I hear the tap is fine in Chicago, but I don't drink tap water.

Nice hotel
The Amalfi was perfect for our needs. Quiet, comfortable, free breakfast right outside our door, and close enough to walk to the things we were interested in. The staff was attentive and very helpful when asking directions and giving suggestions about how to get around town.
