Great stay overall. Valet parking was $49. It was already known, but a bit over priced in my opinion.

Great hotel!
The customer service was excellent. We arrived early (before 10 a.m.) and asked to check our bags but were allowed to check in early. The breakfast was okay but not outstanding (mediocre pastries and bagels, apples, bananas, oranges, yogurt, milk, cereal, tea and coffee) but they have a happy hour from 5:30-7:00 every night that is excellent. Free wine, beer, mixed drinks and appetizers. The room was very comfortable, spacious, and clean. Great location.

Check out Vermilion restaurant. It's a little pricey but great if you want to splurge. The best part was the unique drinks (chili pear martini for one).

Close to everything
After many trips to Chicago, this was the best accommodations for the price, yet! We were in town to see U2 at Soldier field, and have some fun shopping and sight-seeing. The surroundings are great, fab food within a block in almost every direction. Only a few blocks from the subway, river, and theaters. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We loved the Amalfi hotel. They even had robes and slippers in the closet waiting for us, as well as cocktail hour and continental breakfast on the house!

Great hotel
We stayed at the Amalfi from 7/16/11 through 7/20/11 and I had to tell you what a pleasant experience we had. I travel monthly for work and I typically stay in chain hotels so this was my first experience with a boutique style hotel. The room was always clean and well maintained. The housekeeping staff was very attentive when we asked for more towels and toiletries as needed. The breakfast each morning is a fabulous touch, especially for people like me who prefer to eat on the run! I am not sure who maintains that but there was never a lack of anything, no matter what time I was there. The front desk, bell hop and doormen staffs were always friendly and helpful, especially since it was our first time in the city and we always needed to check on directions, etc. Great location as well, you are able to walk to most everything downtown within 20 minutes or catch a bus or the "L" within a few blocks. I have read many positive reviews on Trip adviser.com and the like but I have seen a small amount of people complaining and I can safely assume that those are the type of people that will find anything to complain about. We had a fabulous experience at the Amalfi hotel We hope to return to Chicago soon and plan on returning to the Amalfi as well.

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
Avoid the Willis (Sears) Tower during weekends. It is incredibly crowded, even after 5 pm on a Sunday and very uncomfortable. Loved Gino's East pizza the best!

Amalfi Hotel Chicago
The location of this hotel is perfect for shopping. Travel from O'Hare was easy. We were in walking distance of all shopping, parks, Navy Pier, theatre district. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was very good and the cocktail reception exceptional. We will stay there again on our next girl's shopping trip! For the value, I don't think we could find a better place to stay. It delivers what is advertised.

Great Personal Attention
The personal attention of the staff made it so easy to get into restaurants, atractions and boat tours that we were interested in. They are so helpful that getting around was easy. A short walk around the corner from the hotel is where a free shuttle to Navy Pier runs, or a bus or taxi was always at our beck and call. We walked to Magnificent Mile several times. The free breakfast is right outside the elevators on every floor and we took advantage of that daily. Loved it and can't wait to visit, again.

Outstanding - Amenities & Atmosphere
The Amalfi is a perfect boutique hotel with all of the amenities. Check-in was a breeze complete with friendly smiles. Complimentary cocktail party had great appetizers, yummy signature cocktails and premium beverages. The room very refreshing and clean. Continental breakfast from 7-10 was fresh baked pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals and fresh coffee that was replenished every hour. The concerige was very knowledgeable and proved directions, maps and great advice on spots to visit. What a wonderful visit to Chicago!

Unbeatable location and great perks
We were here for a girls night out. The location is in the middle of everything. The room was very clean and had Aveda bath products. There was a continental breakfast on every floor right outside of our room! There is also a happy hour with appetizers and free drinks. Parking was a little pricey, but other than that it was fantastic!

Great location! Great staff!
This hotel has a fantastic location! You are close to the city transit trains and buses. You're also within walking distance of multiple nightly hot spots and eateries and shopping. The hotel is clean, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. We were constantly asking for directions and recommendations, which were given with a smile. We saw every attraction and enjoyed the local nightlife as well. I'll be staying here the next time I visit this great city!

Make sure you board the bus going in the right direction. We made this mistake twice, and it cost us hours of our time.
