My review of Amalfi Hotel Chicago

We had an 8 hour drive to Chicago. Upon arriving, feeling a little tired, we were met by a friendly door man. Valet parking was easy. Checking in to the hotel was easy and fast. The front desk staff were very helpful in planning our stay. Our room was bright and spacious. The continental breakfast served on each floor was convenient. I could slip out in my housecoat and bring breakfast back for my kids. The managers reception was kind of fun. The bartenders served Shirley Temples to my kids. The location was great, close to the river, Magnificent Mile, House of Blues and a host of great restaurants.

Unque breakfast options

The Amalfi has a pretty impressive breakfast set-up on each floor. This was great as it was included at no extra cost which is rare in the city. Location is great and the staff are consistently friendly & helpful.

Great business amenities.

The Amalfi was extremely well appointed and very well maintained. It was close to everything in the downtown area. Resturants were within walking distance and several night clubs as well. The room was very nice in that it was clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and large enough to be comfortable. The mimi bar was well stocked and had a good variety of items. There were enough lights to make the room as bright or as dim as you cared to have it. The wi-fi worked great and there were extra plugs for all electronics that needed to be charged. Very Nice.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There were many resturants to choose from all in walking distance. Some were upscale and there were some just for sandwiches or burgers. There were several bars very close by so if you wanted to go out and enjoy the night life it was within walking distance of the hotel.

Great location; Great value

The Amalfi is my favorite place to stay in Chicago. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious, and the staff is great. It is a boutique hotel, small and charming, centrally located (just a block from Michigan Avenue), but isn't crawling with tourists. There is a free happy hour every evening in the hotel. In sum, a find!

Great Find

This hotel is a great find for the convenience, value, and comfort. The continental breakfast and the evening cocktail hour are great perks and very enjoyable. The staff is very helpful with dining and entertainment options. The rooms are not large and our view left a great deal to be desired but we don't spend a lot of time looking out the window. We will definitely stay at the Amalfi again.

Wonderful Overall

The Amalfi Hotel Chicago is in a great location, the staff is excellent, friendly and knowledgeable and the rooms are wonderful and clean. You get what you pay for, free breakfast in the morning and cocktails and finger food for free every night, you can't go wrong at The Amalfi, it's also within walking distance of everything, right in the heart of the city, I look forward to staying there again in the futre:) My only complaint was I couldn't stay longer.

Wonderful service and amenities

Very nice staff and nice hotel. Beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and had featherdown. They provided a wonderful continental breakfast and a cocktail and hor' oduerves time from 5 to 7... FREE! We did not need to spend money on breakfast nor dinner. What an awesome service! Very clean. I highly recommend this place, it is located 2 blocks from merchandise mart and 4 blocks from the major shopping on michigan avenue. Very fun bars and restaurants are all around. Enjoy!

My review of Amalfi Hotel Chicago

Hotel gave us early check in (early am) and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms were very nice, modern, bathrooms were large -- nice toiletries. Beds Very comfortable. There are free cocktails and b'fast daily. More like a friendly B&B rather than a hotel in a big city. We would definitely stay again. Shopping a few blocks away.
