Great price, great location!

Just one block from subway and 2 blocks from the magnificent mile. The rooms are on the small side, but everything is very comfy and clever organized. Do not lift the snacks from the tray unless you want to buy it!

Great location

Great location in downtown, cozy/quiet room, and comfortable bed! The only reason I didn't give it a 5 stars was because the hallways smelled like cigarettes. It didn't smell when i first checked in so I wouldn't blame the hotel for that, but I think the guests who checked in later that week was smoking and it kept smelling that way for the next two days. Thankfully, the smell didn't travel down to my room.

Girl friend shopping trip

We love this place. This is our second time there. Each time we go, we find different places to eat and drink. Centrally located from Jewel Osco to Starbucks along with all the restaurants and pubs. shopping within 2 blocks. It's just perfect for us.

Great value, good location,clean

Stayed for 2011 labor day weekend. First time in Chicago. Small room, but quiet, clean and modern. Very nice bathroom. Unless you insist on over priced hotels outstanding value for the buck. Helpful staff. Generous free daily breakfast, sausage, eggs, waffles, pastry, yogurt, fruit, cereal, bread, bagels, juice, coffee. Restaurants, shopping, grocery store, movie theatres, bus stops, navy pier all within walking distance. Safety box but no fridge in room.

Acceptable hotel in a great location

This hotel is in a great location in Chicago. If you are on a budget, it's a great place to stay. I've stayed here for visits throughout undergrad and during my young adulthood. Now that I'm in my late 20's, I'll upgrade to something nicer for my next stay. The rooms are very small and obviously a Comfort Inn doesn't have beds as nice as The W. But if you're not going to be in your hotel much anyway, this is fine. The walls are very thin. During my most recent trip, it was not pleasant being next to a family with young kids.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

If you get into Chicago at an odd hour, many restaurants may not be serving lunch or dinner. I've gone starving into an adorable upscale pizzeria and wine bar called Pizzeria Via Stato, which is just a block and a half from the hotel. It is affiliated with the great restaurant next door, Osteria Via Stato. Its tasty thin crust pizza and intelligent wine selection has satisfied many a time when I got into town around 3pm without having eaten lunch.

Great Location between 2 ballparks

The hotel was in an excellent location for walking along Michigan Ave, for dining in both fine and casual restaurants, and for taking the Red Line to both the Sox and Cubs ballparks.

I went to a Sox and Cubs game. The hotel is located between both ballparks, one block from the Red Line which stops at each park. The cost per ride is $2.25 each way. Tip#1: Purchase a ticket early, have exact change, place the total amount that you plan to spend on it all at once, money can be added to a card at any station, one ticket can be used by multiple people. Tip#2: Either stay late or leave the ballpark an inning early to avoid the crowds.

Great Location for the price!

The hotel was great. The only thing that could have made it much better is if there was a pool.
