If you've never been one for convention, ACME HOTEL is the right choice for you in downtown Chicago. Located 2 and half blocks from the Magnificent Mile in the River North neighborhood, ACME is downtown Chicago's all new boutique hotel alternative. If you appreciate an eye for design and dig a high-tech vibe, you'll feel right at home. Hotel would like to call ourselves cool, or hip, because hotel is, but that just feels like bragging. But mostly, ACME is what hotel consider approachable - in more ways than one. The fact is, hotel want your experience at hotel's downtown Chicago hotel to blow your mind, not your budget. Everyone says they're close to downtown Chicago attractions like the Magnificent Mile, but have they ever done the math? Hotel have -and hotel conclude that the giant Marshmallow guy from Ghostbusters could hit the Avenue in about 3 steps from ACME. Comfort? Check. The latest high-tech visual and audio gadgets? Check. WIFI faster than a speeding bullet? Check. Need more detail? Check it out. Chicago hotel rooms are brand new, and are designed so you can tune in, turn on, or simply tune out. Rooms feature internet ready smart TV's, so you can load and view your own content. There is also Apple friendly and PC compatible hook-ups, just plug-in to the display to display your content on the TV. Plus, suites are wired for sound with Bowers and Wilkins Zeppelin wireless audio systems. As for access, hotel have got 100 MB band-width internet. Is that fast enough for you.

Nice hotel, great location, good value for money

The hotel completely met my expectations, The rooms are unusual looking (sort of "campy"), but completely comfortable. The coffee and meal service in the morning is terrific.

Couples Vacation

I loved the location and the room. The room was smaller, had no closets, but that was no problem for us. It was right down from a market and not far off from the Magnificent Mile. We walked to Millennium Park and the Fields Museum. This was fine for us but you really should see if you are able/willing to walk that far. We walked past the Willis Tower as well. I will say to check your bill. We got charged for snacks we didn't have and double charged for a beer. They did take care of this issue although it took going back more then once. I would go back if we are in the area again.

Good Price for a Great Location

The Acme is in a perfect location for exploring Chicago - right downtown, steps away from transit, shopping, the theater district, great restaurants and nightlife. The inside has a very funky, boutique feel to it. Enjoyed having a common area outside the room to relax in and the ability to do laundry was a nice added touch. The place was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. That said, if you're looking for real comfort, plan on spending a lot of time in your hotel room, or are travelling with older guests, you might want to think about another venue. Our room was quite small (think: just enough room for a bed and a table, basically). It looked out on to an internal "courtyard", making it quite dark. One or both elevators were regularly not working. This wasn't a big problem for us (two young people staying on the third floor), but did pose a problem for older guests we were travelling with who stayed on the thirteenth and fourteenth floors. One final quirky thing to be aware of: The glowing red lips in the bathroom mirror were a cool touch, but there was no way to turn them off at night, which was a bit odd. We ended up just closing the bathroom door to sleep. Overall, a relatively good value for our money and the location can't be beat.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

Eataly, the Italian grocery store/restaurant/cafe, is just a block away. Great spot to grab a casual meal with friends or pick up some takeaway for the room.

Good location, great bar

Nice boutique hotel. The rooms are a bit small but are unique and clean. The staff is friendly and the doorman is really helpful. The hotel bar is a great place to grab a drink. The only gripe I have with the hotel is that I had trouble sleeping because I was constantly woken up by the other guests on my floor closing their doors.

Great C2E2 Weekend

My boyfriend and I initially chose to stay in this hotel because of the awesome decor, but ended up pleasantly surprised by the location! It was our first time in Chicago and to be so close to everything was a bonus. The staff were super helpful in helping us find our way around. The only somewhat negative thing we had to say was about the minifridge - you can't put any of your own items in it, as it's sort of a vending machine style. Apparently there is a fridge downstairs, though, that the staff will keep your things in for you. And the prices for all the snacks and drinks were totally fair!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Pizzeria Uno or Due, just down the street, are a perfect alternative to the more popular Giordanos, which is always overbooked or has crazy wait times.
