Homewood Suites by Hilton® Champaign-Urbana

Hotel and location was great. For what I needed I walked to nearby locations. I was there for a business metting, so I had transportation. Dining options for lunch & dinner required me to find a place because those options were not available at the hotel on a Fri.-Sun.

Stayed here while moving our first-born freshman into his college room. Nice and quiet except for loud train occasionally at night. Clean, well-kept, more upscale-decorated facility. Very friendly, helpful staff. But no room service or restaurant on site. Nothing nice to look at out window either of 2 times we stayed here-- backs of storefronts, roof of the lower floors of hotel, or parking lot. All in all though, really nice hotel to stay at, especially considering what else is available in this town. Would definitely stay here again.

Did not request a handicapped access room, but did like the location. Was surprised there was no bath tub. In addition, we requested a crib. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told that the hotel did not have ANY cribs, and only had pack-n-plays. They should note this on their website.

My daughter and I visited the University of Illinois to consider it for her graduate education, and to reminisce about my own undergraduate years there. Our hotel stay added very nicely to our visit.

For this category (i.e., not glitzy) it was fantastic. The included breakfast was hot and delicious and much better than the typical included breakfast (freshly scrambled eggs and many options of hot cereal including cream of wheat).

Location not nearly as close to campus as they said; quite far, esp. if walking. Noisy train at night. Not good view at all (parking lot, backs of stores, and busy streets...) from windows. NO restaurant on premises, let alone room service. NO movies on cable -- had to rent from front desk. Not comfy room seating or comfy mattress (from their own description was expecting a LOT better). Was not a cheap stay, either -- not a good value! Pool water cold. Bathroom vent not working well. Shampoo and shower gel bottles were microscopic! First day there, eardrum-shattering fire alarm went off in the rooms around dinnertime, and firemen came; we had to evacuate for quite a long time; they couldn't locate fire. Turned out that the roof-top fire alarm vent(?) had filled with rainwater and set the alarm off, for all that time, fright, and inconvenience!!

Loved how close it was to U of I campus

We spent a week here while my son participated in a national basketball tournament at the University and we couldn't have asked for better accommodations. The morning breakfasts were delicious, the weekday evening meals were excellent, and they saved us a substantial amount of money in food costs. We stayed in a studio suite and there was plenty of room for us and our two teenage sons without feeling cramped. The kitchen facilities were perfect for lunches and late night snacks. The maids kept our room in excellent condition. The shower was outstanding. Overall, we could not have asked for a better location, or hotel for our week long stay.
