Start out a gold mining town, add healing hot springs, then top that with Americas first destination ski resort and you have a magic combination. Even Ernest Hemingway fell in love with and moved to Sun Valley where he completed -For Whom the Bell Tolls, writing in the morning and hunting and fishing in the afternoon. This icon of U.S. ski resorts was the first in the world to build a chairlift, opened the first ski school in the world and can match any community in the world for the number of citizens who have competed in the Olympics. Sun Valley has become an all season playground and offers everything you will ever need for year round vacations, from downhill, heli-skiing and sleigh rides to golf, fishing, hiking and horseback riding, just to name a few, which matches the motto of the city" Small Town, Big Life. Free Wi-Fi is available for all units.
Please check-in at Tamarack Lodge at 291 Walnut Avenue, Ketchum, ID 83340. Office hours are from 8am-6pm. Daily housekeeping is not provided at this accommodation.
Please Note a USD 100.00 refundable deposit is required at check-in. Credit card only.
Additional Note: There is a USD 250.00 fine for smoking in the units and USD 350.00 fine for pets in the units.
From Monday October 13, 2014 until November 30, 2014, the resort will be repainting the building's hallways and unit doors. The hours of operations will be Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

I was on a visit to see my daughter in Boise and we decided to make a last minute trip up the hill. Glad we did. The room, or I guess I should say, our one bedroom condo was fantastic. Had a very comfy pull out for myself to sleep on while I let
my kid have the master. Very clean. It had a fully equipped kitchen as well as a nice fireplace. The heated parking garage was an added bonus as well. The staff was very nice and informative. If there was anything semi negative it would be that we had to check in and out at an offsite location. It was only about a five minute drive so that is why I say semi negative. We are already plannimg another trip next year and will absolutely be staying here again!!!
Even with written directions, our room was hard to find and the designated parking was impossible. We wound up parking in the underground parking near our room after driving around in circles several times and not finding anyplace that had 100
Elkhorn Road written on it. I have a bad knee plus a handicap permit and parked in a handicapped spot that had guest painted on the post. ADA access to the room was unavailable. Fortunately we only spent one night there because we found a warning ticket on our vehicle saying that our vehicles would soon be towed because we were parked in the wrong garage. Somehow strangers are supposed to know that there is a difference between Elkhorn Village and Elkhorn Springs!
We weren't informed that the store and restaurant we're vacant and there was no place nearby to dine; luckily we had brought food with us.
I had to drive around Elkhorn Village for over an hour asking directions to the rental office to get checked in and get keys. After several inquiries we finally deterrmined that the Tamarack Lodge in Ketchum was the rental agent so we headed back
into town to check in. Mind you this was after running the Sawtooth Relay all night and not having slept for over 36 hours. When we got to the condo/village we noticed that all amenities were shut down. The pool was closed for repair , the restaurant was closed so we had to head back to town to find dinner. Very poor service on your part!
