To soft of bed.

Bad time of year(fall)to go to this hotel, everything is closed for the season. The bed was way to soft and sheets did not fit the bed,so pritty much your sleeping on the bare mattress. We ended up checking out a day early and losing our money.

Not so hot.

This hotel could use a makeover. It's fairly outdated and the decor looks tired. The toilet in my room ran slow and on the last day actually clogged. I requested a handicap access room and found that my bathtub had a very high rim that made it hard to get in and out, to the point of being dangerous.

Family weekend

We stayed at the Red Lion Templin in Post Falls, Idaho on a Saturday night in September 2010. The rooms were nice, but a little small; it seemed that when the doors to the entertainment cabinet were open, we had to squeeze around them to walk to the hallway door or bathroom. The television was quite small, in fact the smallest I have seen in a motel/hotel for a number of years. The room and bathroom were clean and had plenty of towels. The sink and counter area is fairly small; it would be nice to have a bit more counter space. There was a lot of noise in the hallway at about 11:30 p.m. We were awakened again at about 4:30 a.m. by people talking and presumably partying outside in the parking lot in front of our room. The grounds are nice and there is a nice view of the river. We had the Sunday morning breakfast buffet--it was fair--at $7.95 it could have had a better variety. It would be nice to have regular mugs for the tea and coffee at the breakfast buffet instead of the paper cups provided, although the servers brought us mugs when we asked.

Beautiful views

Our trip was only for a couple of days to visit family and check out the area. Beautiful rooms and great location, easy to access the hwy and the river view was beautiful. Very quiet and clean rooms, nice workout room and pool and jacuzzi was nice also. The beds were also very comfortable.

Road trip favorite

We were on a road trip and when we pulled into the Red Lion we were ready to relax. Our room was ready and pleasant. We walked to the river and the little snack shack employees helped us pick a beer to relax with under the umbrellas at the river front tables. (Here have a taste before you decided!). We decided to have dinner at the hotel's restaurant and found the lovely deck perfect for dinner. Again our waitperson was attentive and very helpful. She treated us to a lovely desert as we had to wait for for her to come take our order (which was not a long wait and we had the river to watch!) We missed getting up for the breakfast buffet ($8) because our room was dark and the bed comfortable. We had a coffee pot in the room, so there was no rush to get out and get that morning cup of coffee!

Location, location, location...

I had chosen this particular hotel because of thelocation on the river, and it was worth it. The viewsfrom the lobby and dining area were great. The hotelalso has a beach for swimming, boat rentals, and snack-bar along the river. The only negative we encountered was that only about half of the roomshad a nice river view, while the rest were views of the parking lot.(we had parking lot views) Front desk manager was friendly, but hotel seemed under-staffed. [...] Overall, the dining was excellent, with great food quality and service. Hotel only allows free internet access for 15 minutes, and then charges for each additional 15 min. Upon check-out, I heard there were problems with other guests of the hotel that the front desk staff was trying to resolve. Still, we had a mostly positive experience.

Wonderful Service

Clean rooms, lots of towels, clean micro, coffee and refrigerator, cable TV. Gorgeous view and great food. Dining prices better than regular restaurants. Servers in dining room were friendly and super efficient. We stayed here a couple years ago and were so comfortable that we chose it again. It is also convenient to all kinds of activities, shopping, fuel and freeways, but there is no noise from traffic.
