Not as bad as past review said it was.
I didn't have a bad expereince at all. When we first got to the room, it didn't have a microwave or fridge. I went to the front desk and they fixed it right away. The breakfast was better then most. They have waffles, cereals, bagels, muffins, biscuits and gravy. No one should complain, it is free and hot. It was not a bad place to stay. The staff was great. I will stay again.

If you are going to Silverwood Theme Park, ask the front desk for the back streets to get there. It was much faster.

good family hotel
We arrived the night before a big triathlon in Couer D'Alene, and needed a rollaway bed. I thought i had secured this by calling ahead, but it was first come, first serve. We were not polite about expressing our frustration at the miscommunication, but the lady at the desk found a roll-away and maintained her cheerful, professional attitude despite our crummy one. I was totally impressed, and would recommend this place to anyone.

My back is STILL not back to normal.
The check-in process was pleasant enough. Good staff. The beds were AWFULL! Way too soft. My wife and I both left in misery. Never again. To top it off, went down for breakfast, lifted the lid off the gravy for the buiscits and gravy and left. The gravy was burnt and the buiscits were these tiny little things that were obviously frozen and looked like over sized donut holes.

1/2 star motel
We should have paid attention to the reviews. If you're on the road and extremely tired, just want a place to crash for the night, then it's adequate. Otherwise, I would never choose this motel again. WHAT I LIKED: 1. It was a convenient location for where we were spending our time (visiting family in Spokane & Couer d'Alene). 2. The staff was very friendly and willing to help, though they had limited resources to correct the issues. 3. Video games, pool table, spa and indoor pool (though we didn't use them, it was nice to have them on site). WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: 1. The motel is old and dated, and feels/smells that way. 2. The first room we were in appeared that the sink had not been cleaned, had a film in the bowl. 3. We asked to change rooms and though the second room appeared to be cleaner, there was a 12"x12" patch in the wallboard from some prior damage and was poorly repaired. The laminate in the sink was heavily damaged. There was a brown smear above the bathroom door that was very disturbing to think about what it might be 4. Smells of old smoke. 5. Absolutely NO insulation inbetween rooms. We heard voices/television clearly through the walls. 6. Location, though close to the freeway, has no aesthetic appeal; truck stop across the street, abandoned building on one side. 7. Lobby bathroom was stopped up and overflowing, very unsanitary and no one came to clean it until the next day. Because it was part of our vacation package, it was not possible to leave, otherwise we would have left after the first night. This is definitely NOT a destination place, it's simply a motel to sleep in and move on. I would not stay here again.

Won't be back
1. check in 10-13-11 First room-sink was dirty in it. 2. Second room - Looked like something nasty smeared above bathroom door on inside. 3 house keepers confirmed that and cleaned it. And No frig. 10-14-11 3. Guest bathroom-flooded toilet and water all over the floor Friday night after 7:00 PM. Who ever did it knew they did it and left it. Embarrassed or not they should have put an Out of Order note on door, and told someone. Before she realized it, my Sister went in and the bottom of her pants were soaked. And the washer was out of order. So much for clean pants. Staff was nice. No complaints about the one's we met. They tried to help.

If your just there for sleep it'll work.
The hotel is pretty run down, with unpleasant smells in the hallways. The pool appears unkept with rotting ceilings and walls and a stained (or just dirty) pool bottom. The room was very plain with no microwave or refridgerator, but the AC worked well. The 1 guest computer's internet was very slow and it froze for me and the guest that used it prior to me. It was inexpensive, however, for the location it should do better. I wont stay there again.

It may be less expensive to stay in Post Falls, Idaho while visiting Couer d'Alene, Idaho.

Bad deal for the price
The room had a chair in it that had some disgusting white matter on it. (not a stain) I was shocked that it was left in the room for the next guest! the mattresses were in such poor condition that when you sat on them, the mattress sunk all the way to the box spring. The next morning, we went down to the breakfast bar,(a good half hour before it ended) and they were out of most everything. Now if the hotel sees that they have X no. of guests, why can they not plan to have enough food? How can they say they offer breakfast when it is a 'well maybe if you get here at 0700" The next morning, the food attendent did a poor job of keeping things restocked. People had to constantly ask her for things. I have been to other hotels with this kind of breakfast, and the attendants had no problems keeping up with eveything and being diligent. It was a dirty mess everywhere,(spilled food, etc.. on the counters) and she acted annoyed when asked for something. The towels for the pool were very small, the size of a handtowel. This place was HORRIBLE and I will NEVER go there again!

If you are going to Silverwood theme park, and going on a weekend, plan for extra time to get there from this hotel. The traffic was bumper to bumper when we left, and it took almost an hour to get there.
