Rodeway Inn & Suites Nampa

Place was not as described. It is old and run down. Cleaning staff is not good and front desk help doesn't seem to give a hoot. It's ok if traveling by yourself and you only need a bed for the night, but don't be fooled by the breakfast, refrig, microwave, or anything else they advertise.

We had booked two rooms for 8 nights in a row. We were attending a very rigorous shooting competition which has us away from early morning (5am) until late evening (9pm) so our needs are very simple. Just a clean room and shower so we can clean up and get rested for the next day. We got neither for our money. The first night was ok but upon our return to the room for night #2 we found the beds unmade with only the bedspread straightened up so there was a cursory appearance of maid service. The toilet had not been cleaned and dirty towels were still present on the bathroom floor. As we left, we made contact with the front desk and expressed our displeasure. We were assured that our room would be clean when we returned. Again no such luck. Various conditions continued throughout our stay in both rooms. We complained twice more with very little improvement. Due to the circumstances and our schedule we were unable to change hotels which is unfortunate as the situation and service certainly warranted such a measure. The family/owners of the facility obviously live in several rooms on the top floor. The odor from their cooking permeated the hallways and elevator of the hotel. It was not enticing but rather offensive. This alone should be an indication of the lack of professionalism at this facility. Upon checkout we attempted to discuss a partial refund but were flatly refused. I am currently pursuing this through Rodeway Inns and my AMEx account. Even though the rates seem reasonable this hotel cannot meet even the minimum standard for a nights stay.

Nice breakfast. Two choices of juice and cereal. Lots of donuts, and regular and decaf coffee. Coffee available 24 hours, nice touch. Did not like the fact that every time a door closed, my bedroom wall shuddered. Fortunately, this was infrequently. Room had kind of a musty smell the second day we were there.
