Youth Hostel in sheep's clothing
The best word that comes to mind when thinking about our stay at this hotel is "dissapointing". The advertisement offer a few upgrades, including a fireplace and a balcony. When we arrived, we found out that the fireplaces are turned off during the summer months and the balcony wouldn't fit me if I was standing sideways (I'm 6' 1" and 190 lbs). The heater didn't work, the bedspread was one of those old style bedspreads they must have purchased from an old Motel 6 that was going our of business. Don't get me started on the bathroom. First, there wasn't want shampoo or conditioner, in fact the soap for the bathroom sink was a half-full pump bottle of anti-bacterial soap. I am glad we only stayed one night,as I found a sheet of paper that was in the room that stated, "in order to keep our rates as low as possible (I didn't think $155 per night was low), we do not offer daily maid service." The next line read, "please wash off your dishes, place in dishwasher, add detergent, and turn on when you check out". The walls were so thin I could hear the guest voices of every other room that abutted ours, and these were not people that were speaking loudly. I would have called down to the front desk, but the sheet of paper mentioned above also stated that the lobby was only open from 9am-5pm.All in all, I will never stay here again, [...] We left at 7am the next morning because my wife was sleeping with her down parka on in order to keep warm.

great place to stay
It had a very friendly atmosphere, with the lady at the frontdesk more than helpful. Room was clean and comfortable with fireplace, kitchen, jacuzzi bathtub. The Inn is situated almost at the base of Bald Mt.

Nice studio for long stay
I stayed at the lodge during the slow season, summer. Staff was not always onsite, but reachable by phone. Bald Mountain Lodge would be a great spot to stay for a winter week and go skiing. It's on the local free bus route to the lifts. The kitchenette would be nice for bringing your own groceries for simple cooking. Fireplace, TV, and sitting area would be nice for a relaxing evening.
