Awful staff, awful stay

This is the worst hotel I have stayed at. The staff was rude and very unhelpful. The cleaning staff was terrible. Left room service trays in our room that were dirty. Forgot to leave shampoo and other amenities. When I called the front desk to ask for extra towels and shampoo I was told I had to come get them. I thought this was a full service hotel. I could have gotten better service t a Super8.

Good value

Staff was accommodating and the hotel was good. The morning buffet was a great value with decent food. It was perfect for feeding my daughter before we cheered on the Broncos.

Good location

I was only staying over night in Boise prior to heading up north into the national forests. It's a nice hotel, and the most important aspect for me as a relatively young traveler was free WiFi.

Was what we expected :)

We went to Boise and weren't planning on spending lots of time in the Hotel. We needed an affordable place that was close to downtown. And the Red Lion was perfect! The staff was very friendly and the room was comfortable and clean. We were next to the maintenance room and it did get a bit noisy when the housekeepers were stocking up on supplies but it wasn't terribly inconvenient. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Great night in Downtown Boise

My one night stay at this hotel was great. I was attending a concert in downtown Boise and did not want to drive back home. This hotel has a great location if you want a short walk to downtown, but it is a little quieter because it is not exactly downtown. The kingsize bed was so comfortable. My only advice to the hotel would be to have a few snack vending machines put in. They do have a few things for sale at the front desk and a few things in a cooler display though.

Please may I have a room not occupied already?

I came down as a local resident and checked in about 3:00pm. I just asked for a room key as I would be back later. When I returned later, with bag in hand and went up to my room. I opened the door to discover the room was already occupied with another person's stuff it it. I did not venture in to see if they were present or not. So back to lobby to ask for a room that was not occupied. Which the lobby attendant was more that happy to do and applogized there was a glitch in there system ealier which caused the oversight and he was going to up grade us to a premier King room now due to the mistake. Rest of the trip was in one word AWWW!!!

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

About less then 1 miles is Boise Downtown eateries with Lock Stock and Barrel for the best steaks in the state, or the Red Feather for up scale dining at it's best. If you want down home country fare go to Goldies. But get reservations for all places as very busy, Goldies is worth the wait!
