Just off I80, can get anywhere in Des Moines rather easily. Great place to just rest and sleep. Very nice breakfast buffet ... ,at least on weekends. Couple miles to Jorden Creek Mall and straight shot through town to State fair grounds. Price not out of line with discount chains and way better facilities.2nd visit and would stay again.

It was our 30th wedding anniversary. We went to the Iowa State Fair and a concert. The hotel gave us a Handicapp room with no ... tub and the water drained in to the middle of the bathroom and most of the bulbs in the lamps were burned out. We informed the staff and they acted uninterested. We were very unhappy with the room. One of our worst experiences.

I would put this in with the top hotels I have stayed in for quiet, clean and nice extra touches like extra pillows on the ... bed. the only negative was that there weren't directions for the coffee pot and we couldn't find the caraffe. Turns out you use the "cups" to catch the coffee. I couldn't find a button or number to call to ask the front desk.

The West Des Moines Marriot was in a prime location. The mall, which was huge, was about 2 minutes from the hotel. ... Everything you needed was within minutes of the hotel. The hotel was very nice, but the only problems were the room was a bit small for 3 people and the bed was a little small. Overall, it was an excellent place to stay.

wonderful relaxation

We really enjoyed our stay at this Marroit. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were soooo clean, which is very ... important to us.We did not hear alot of hallway noise, so we appreciated that also. Although, there was no contintental breakfast available at 10:00- were we too late?? I suppose it was not a big deal at that time of day. Overall, we had a great experience.

My wife and I were in Des Moines for a wedding. Love the stay at the hotel. Like to see more towels and more boxes of ... kleenex in the room. I went to the front desk and ask how my roomrate with breakfast included work, but the clerk said it didn't say anything about breakfast included with roomrate. Orbitz, you need to do a better job telling the hotel about it. The clerk was really nice and said that the hotel will take care of it.

I thought the Marriott was great. It was reasonabley priced and the rooms were nice. I had a pet with me and that was not a ... problem at all. I needed a roll-away bed and they had it up to me in about 10 minutes. I liked the special going on that allowed kids to eat free. We only used it on one meal, but it was worth it. Check-in was a breeze and we were able to get right up to our room.

Chose West Des Moines Marriott as overnight stop en route to Denver. They were courteous and efficient, the room quite ... comfortable, they had a pool (a must for a seven-year-old!) and a fitness center. Located near a great shopping mall with good restaurants. Value-added were a free full buffet breakfast and a $25 gift card. An outstanding value and would recommend to a friend.

The West Des Moines Mariott was nice, however I was amazed that the cleaning people left bedding laying in the hallways that ... people had to walk around. Also, I understood that there was no lifeguard in the pool area, but possibly a hotel employee needs to walk through occasionally. There were small children jumping and/or diving into the whirlpool. I was concerned about their safety, and didn't appreciate being splashed while I was trying to relax. The towels both in the rooms and at the pool area were almost bare threaded, not something I expected from a hotel of this caliber. The location is great and the breakfast buffet was excellent, with many choices.
