West Des Moines Marriott

When we got to the hotel at 3:30 our room wasn't ready. The first front desk person wasnt very helpfull. When we finally got into our room at 5:30 the staff that was on was very pleasant. We went to the pool and the heat lamps didnt work so the water was freezing. The rooms were clean for the most part there was some dirt or food on the curtains. The hotel was good for how much we paid but I have had better and expected better from a Marriott hotel.

Close to Jordon Creek Mall, downtown DM in minutes--great location Quality every time - We continue to come back

We stayed at the West Des Moines Marriott while visiting relatives and attending the Iowa State Fair. We found the hotel to be clean, comfortable, and quiet. The location was convenient to food, shopping and the highway. Found the overall quality to be excellent as typical of most Marriott stays.

We were visiting family with our pet it was relaxing knowing we did not have to ask someone to watch our small dog and was able to take him into the hotel. Only problem I had was ice machine was not working but that is not major. Asked for extra towels had them within 10-15 mins. Front desk very accommodating we arrived early and they were more than happy to check and see if a room was ready. They thought would take them about 1/2 hour so we were going to find something to do, but before we could get to our car they ran out the door and had a room ready. We had driven in from Indiana and was grateful for time to get into the room and relax a few minutes before going to family event. Was comfortable and an enjoyable experience. We were traveling with our children 21, 18, 25, and 26.

The hotel and room were lovely, clean, quiet and comfortable. We did not try the restaurant. Staff at check-in were maybe not as friendly as some but tried to be helpful. In recommending things around town it would be nice if they knew more about the city and could recommend local gems instead of chain restaurants. My husband and I are not interested in chain anything when we travel. Can get that at home!

My friend and I were only in Des Moines for one night so didn't get to fully explore the area, but this seemed a good location--close to shopping and a variety of restaurants. Staff and service were the best parts of the stay. Room was not equipped with a refrigerator, but we asked for one and it was delivered within a few minutes. It's wise to ask for directions on the in-room coffee-maker; it's eco-friendly, just not user friendly.

Easy check in, clean room, comfortable beds, quiet hotel.

It was very nice. The original room assigned was wrong and they quickly fixed it.

My fiancée and I stayed one night at the Marriott. We didn't get to the hotel until pretty late so we didn't get to enjoy many of the amenities but it was a pretty, decent sized room. The hotel was nice but not sure it was worth $130 a night.
