Lots of different room options. Basic rooms with bed, chair and desk or suites with extras or large family sized rooms with kitchenettes, living and dining areas and extra bedrooms. Great shopping, dining and nightlife very nearby.

Good hotel, friendly people!

Attended the ISU - Nebraska football game w/ friends from Neb. Experienced the grand opening of Trader Joe's. Along with hotel all very enjoyable.

While at the hotel we mostly relaxed and went shopping. The location alowed us to also visit The Bridges of Madison County. It was only a 30 min. drive. One thing that was missing was some sort of a free breakfast. I feel that is always a nice touch and a lot of motel chains offer that now.

We were midway through our travels on the holiday weekend. Couldn't ask for a better location, walking distance from food and shops. The stay was very peaceful and relaxing, staff was very courteous. Plenty of amenities to stay just on the grounds.

I enjoyed every second of my trip to Des Moines this weekend largely because of the staff at this wonderful hotel. From the front desk clerks to house keeping to room service and the shuttle drivers all we're extremely friendly and courteous. I will definitely stay at this hotel again should I decide to go to Des Moines and will be talking about this hotel for a long time. I was impressed!

Great place to stay after a long day of travel. Clean, quiet and quick check in. Great breakfast buffet the next day to prepare for more travel. Would stay there anytime we go to Des Moines

We came to stay during the Iowa State Fair...I was very pleased with the location first off...very easy to find, lots of restaurants and shopping. The rooms were very nice my only complaint was that the bathroom had a shower stall only and having a one year old to bath made it really difficult! The rooms stayed cool at night which we like, the service was really good, the restaurant in the hotel was very nice, parking was great, and I felt like I was in a very safe neighborhood. The pool was nice not huge, but nice. Would definately recommend to those who have children that can shower by themselvess!

Located in a great seemingly new area of West Des Moines. Could not have asked for a better location. The outside of the hotel,the lobby,bar, restaurant and pool area were very nice. The hallways walking to our rooms were not as nice as the "1st impression" places. Halls were beginning to show wear and tear. As were the rooms. Still very neat and clean - but the curtains, bedspreads, bathrooms and linens were needing some TLC. There was a significant difference between the two rooms we had. One was a King the other had 2 queens. The King room was bigger and the bathroom had a shower with a door. The queen room was smaller and had the shower with the half circle shower curtain that no matter how you work it water still gets all over the floor. Bartender was fantastic - very nice bar area. The draw back to this particular Holiday Inn Express and Suites was that there was not the complimentary breakfast like the 5 other Holiday Inn Express and Suites we have stayed in over the last 6 months that cover multiple states on the East coast and Midwest as we have been on several college visits during that time. It was explained to me that the reason the breakfast was not complimentary was because they had a restaurant. That may have been stated somewhere in the info when I booked and I may have missed it. However, Holiday Inn has been using the complimentary breakfast as a perk in their ads when promoting this new product they have added to their otherwise very tired old hotel line! Was disappointed when I realized I was going to have to feed all 5 of us for breakfast somewhere else because the restaurant in the hotel was charging $9.00 per person. The good news is that there were plenty of other places to choose from near by. Banging hotel room doors are an issue in almost every hotel - I get that. But this hotel seemed to have extremely loud doors.

We had very nice, quiet room. The new Jordan Creek Mall is very close, with lots of shopping and dining choices.Close access to I35 for easy travel to nearby family.
