The check in process was easy. The lobby smelled terribly of smoke and the room even though it was a non smoking room also smelled of smoke. The room was on the second floor that I had to access from the outside , The lock to that door stuck and was very difficult to open. A man was outside for atleast an hour an half in back on a cell phone and watched as people entered and excited. My door lock was very difficult to engage and could easily have been broken into,

Convenient, and relatively decent.

Checking into this hotel I didn't know what to expect, and when I checked out, some things were better than I had expected and others were worse. The room had a slight musty smell to it, but there were no stains on the floors or the beds. The bedding was old and needed to be replaced. I turned the heat up and slept on top of the sheets. The bathroom was clean and the shower worked well and there was ample hot water. It is a non smoking room, but down the hall either the non smoking ends or people just don't care. So, by about 10 PM when most of the residents were there, the hall had a strong odor of cigarettes. The hotel was moderately quiet through the night. Overall, I don't plan to stay here again mainly for the bedding issues and the cigarette smoke. But, if you need a quick, cheap place to rest your head when you are exhausted, then this is the place for you.

151 the CREEPY room

Staying at this hotel was something we have done before. My husband’s sisters family lives in the area and when we visit we like staying here. It's clean, quiet and the staff is friendly. Oh and the price. It's very reasonable for the condition this poor motel is in. Let me start out by when we got there. For some reason we did not have the king bed room reserved. They had my husband and I booked in a room with two “full’ size beds. (Can someone say Ricky and Lucy Ricardo??# Anyways the hotel clerk was really nice about it and looked for another room that was a queen or a king bed. She did and we ended up in room 151. The room was spacious and had kind of a musty smell. The queen bed was ok, really springy with blue linins. The thing that really REALLY bothered me was there was a double door that could be opened from our room to the pool. Funny thing I didn’t know this hotel ever had a pool. Now most people would think that have a pool side room is wonderful. Well…… this pool had been closed for years. In fact they were using it as storage space. That’s not the creepiest part. These doors had blinds on the outside or poolside and not from the room side. CREEPY! We got in there and just dropped our luggage and went to visit the family. Later on that night when we came back we realized how creepy. My husband was kind enough to talk with the desk clerk about it and she was more than accommodating to give us our original room with two full size beds. This room was 100% better even though we ended up sleeping in separate beds. The excuse about the double door issue was the manager lost the dead bolt key. Still creepy! They also advertise Wi-Fi. HAHAHA JOKE! The Wi-Fi can only be accessed in the front lobby and the password didn’t work. Again the desk clerks excuse was the manager changed it and that was the only password she knew. Little did the businessmen who were staying there know? They grumbled and complained amongst one another about it as well when the desk clerk was not around. The free continental breakfast is great if you like cereal and toast. Well they have Sunny D for orange juice and milk in gallon jugs. The peanut butter was a chunky style in a jar from Hy-Vee. #I wonder how many gross germs that was on there.) The jelly was the little packets that you get when you go out to a restaurant. BUT the strawberry was hard as a rock and the mixed berry had mold spots. After that attempt we decided that going to the local McDonalds was better than that. Lucky the motel provides a microwave and mini refrigerator so we were able to pick up a couple of items to eat later for breakfast. I cannot complain too much. Our 2 night stay was under $100 before taxes and the staff was really friendly. I think one night stay is all I would do for this place. Next time any more length of time we will stay at the Super 8 or American Inn a mile up the road.

Value in a Hotel

Fine accommodations, quiet, large room, quick breakfast in front lobby was adequate and easy. Bathroom could have used an exhaust fan, and shower head was typically too low, had to bend over to wash hair. Otherwise excellent room! Handy to freeway and town.

Short Trip

The staff that I dealt with were GREAT! They were very nice and helpful. They promised WiFi and the room I was in worked great. They also had cable tv. It is a very nice place to stay if you are staying on a budget.

Was ok for the price

For a small town like Webster City, Ia and the price we paid for this hotel it was not too bad. Their idea of a hot breakfast was all carb loaded. Waffles, hot instant oat meal, toast, and bagels. The bed was uncomfortably hard. Other then that I cannot complain too much. The price was right and the room was clean. Could have been much worse. Since my sister in law lives 2 blocks away I'm sure next time we come back we will stay here again.
