Econo Lodge Urbandale

That hotel was not worth the 64.99 I paid for it. More like a $35 to $40 room. The amenities did not work, such as the in-room refridgerator and the microwave. The room appearance was okay. Nothing was updated. In fact, the bed had 4x4 boards nailed together for the base with a king sized matress and box springs on it. There was an inch wide gap at the bottom of the door, so you could see outside very well. I was surprised I didn't see any bugs. All that it really had going for it, is that it was clean. That's it.

We struggled up steep stairs that had no handrails - walked into our room and were greeted by Moths - killed 2 of them, and in the process, the drapes fell off the windows (we had more moths that night and the next morning) - there were ant-type bugs crawling on the bathroom floor - the carpets and room "felt" dirty - Just not a place to relax and be able to enjoy ones self. Made mention to the staff about the lack of railing and were told there were steps with railing at the far end of the building....There is one good thing - no, 2 good things to say - we were only there 2 nights and the bed WAS very comfortable.

Found the motel to be very quiet and the bed very comfortable for getting a good nights sleep!

There were dead bugs all over on floor...no toilet paper on roll in the bathroom and no soap in shower either!!!! HORRIBLE!!! Also big holes in the wall where pictures were once hanging. Wouldnt wish this place on anybody. Terrible place and am hoping i get some sort of reimbursement!!!!

No clock in the room. All electric outlets were full and required going without a light to plug in my laptop. I will never stay here again. My car alarm went off in the middle of the night and when I went to investigate, there were several people around my car. security is non existant. I reccomend you remove this motel from your offerings.

Was very annoyed that roofers and pounding started so early in the morning on the weekends. Saturday wasnt so bad we had to be on the move early. However, on Sunday I would have rather been able to sleep, then to be woke up at 8 a m with loud construction noise.Was offered a room move away from the noise but declined not realizing the Sunday schedule. I wish it would have been posted on the description prior to booking.

The staff was friendly. The room was clean. They didn't tell us there was no Sunday Maid Service. We checked in on a Saturday and didn't get maid service until Monday morning. The refrigerator in the room would turn on but never got cold. The Ice Machine was inoperative as well. The hotel was a short drive from everything though.

At first glance for the money it seemed alright. But as we settled in there was a lot of maintenance that need to be done. The headboard on the bed was falling off the wall. Light bulbs that didn't work. The faucet for the tub and shower came out of the wall when you pulled it on. Caulking was coming off and moldy. Very poorly maintained. Also the door stuck to the rug when you tried to open and close it. Won't stay there again.

THE HOTEL WAS IN A GREAT LOCATION FOR OUR TRIP. THE PRICE WAS GREAT. THE OWNER/OPERATOR WAS VERY ATENTIVE TO WHAT WE NEEDED AND CAME TO MAK SURE THE ROOM WAS TO OUR LIKING. WHATEVER WE NEEDED, HE PERSONALY SAW TO. TE ONLY THING THAT WE DID NOT LIKE WAS THEY WEE REPAVING THE PARKING LOT IN FRONT OF OUR ROOM FOR TWO DAYS. OVERALL A GREAT STAY.

The location worked for where I needed to be.Not close to any food or shopping.The rooms were ok for the price except my fridge didn't work.The staff didn't speak very good english and was hard to understand.
