Great place to spend the night
The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and the hotel was quiet. We got a great night sleep. We didn't use any of the hotel features, such as the continental breakfast, so I cannot review those. But for a place to spend the night, it was great.

Staying in Small Town Iowa
Due to lack of competition(there is only one other, locally owned motel), the rates are pretty high. There are signs posted throughout the halls and lobby that aren't very hospitable. Some of them read: "No bills larger than $20," "Use vending machines at your own risk, NO REFUNDS" and even a dictionary definition of "continental breakfast" on the dining room doors. The rooms were clean, and the housekeeping staff was very accommodating. Bring your own pillow--their pillows are flat and hard, which doesn't bode well when the the beds were extra firm.

Long walk from hotel
There are a surprising amount of restaurants on the main drag in Oelwein. Everything from Chinese to Italian and Mexican. Just remember, in small town Iowa not everything has extended hours (or is open at all) on Sundays

Friendly place
This motel is in a very convient location in town. It is very quiet. The only problem I had was that the floor was not clean. It needed to be cleaner. There were pieces of paper all over the floor. Most everything else seemed to be in good order.

My review of Super 8 Motel - Oelwein
The Motel 8 was very easy to find. Check in late at night was a little confusing with the pass way arrangement for checking in . Room was clean and comfortable. Bed was made and room cleaned well on the second day of our stay as well.

Short drive from hotel
K-Mart is very close to the Motel and has just about everything a college student could need. It was great for my son who was a new college student on the Upper Iowa campus in Fayette.
