Week-end in DesMoines

We were not in the hotel room very much because we had a busy 2 days. However, we enjoyed the breakfast, as well as the comfortable room. I missed a work-out room, but no one else was inclined to work out. Staff was very helpful and friendly. A good time!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Famous Dave's BBQ just down the street. We had to drive because of the cold weather, but under other circumstances, could have easily walked.

Ok in Des Moines

The stay was just overnight for a concert and if we had stayed longer I would have asked for another room. When I laid down on the bed it sounded like a spring broke. The room was clean but the paint job was horrible with wall paint all over the trim work and HUGE overspray on the outside of the window!

Basic Motel

We had our room keys not work on the outside locks so we had to walk around to the front to get in. There was a loud argument in the parking lot in the middle of the night that went on for an hour. Could hear doors closing from the hall very easily. Only had two thin pillows on the bed. The breakfast tasted good but there was no protein, no peanut butter, yogurt, or eggs. The positives were the price, location, and it was clean.

Great Place for Drake Parents

We now make a habit of staying here when visiting our children at Drake University. We were there yesterday dropping off our youngest and will be back in September for parents' weekend. We had a great room with terrific service and free breakfast on top of it. If you have a child at Drake, this is the best value in Des Moines! Trust me, we've tried most of the others!

Decent price and a good nights sleep.

Located on main drag, with food, fuel, shopping, and movies nearby. Clean room and everything worked. Friendly & accommodating staff. Decent value for an overnight stay.

Decent Place to Stay

Hotel and room were clean, there was a nice complimentary breakfast that included waffles, rolls, juice, cereal, and fruit. The only downfall of my room was that there was no chair to use at the desk. Wi-Fi internet worked fine.Staff was friendly and helpful. Was not allowed to have a printed receipt though, since I booked and paid through [...].

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

Merle Hay Road has a lot of shopping and dining available along the road. It was conveniently located and very close to a mall as well.
